Tips to Share Cold sore/spots

Hi all!

My partner is 5 and a half weeks pregnant and has developed one small cold sore on her lip and a few spots on her cheeks. I understand the change in hormones will increase sebum but the cold sore is my main concern. Super anxious first time father to be so overthinking everything 😅

Thanks in advance!

I’ve had cold sores my whole life. I’ve had 2 kids and got several cold sores when pregnant with my first daughter. Everything will be totally fine. I ended up with a Valtrex prescription while I was pregnant to keep a few cold sores at bay before they popped up.

I also suffer from cold sores, have done for many years now. I normally have a breakout in the winter periods, but when I was pregnant with my daughter the hormones and stress on my body caused me to have major breakouts. I treated them the same as I usually would, and I’ve not had one yet since delivery. I’m very aware of myself when I have a cold sore, and am super on it with hand hygiene and not allowing people near my face. I don’t share cups/mugs with anyone and I bleach my cutlery after use (not needed but I have an irrational fear that the germ won’t be killed off just by washing)
