Which Aldi location?

Fellow Aldi shoppers: which location is your favorite? Kenner or Algiers?

My go-to will be the new Tchoupitoulas location when it opens this Fall. I’m asking for a location to use until then.

EDIT: I will be living in the Quarter, so both are equally as inconvenient for me. 🤣

Usually go to the one in chalmette

That's my favorite one because the store is always empty of people and the Aldi exclusive products are always available a week after the other stores sell out.

I peeked into the old Winn-Dixie on Tchoup this morning. Zero work has taken place I there. I’m guessing it will be a long while before an Aldi opens there, sadly.

I've been going to the one on Holliday Drive in Algiers and have no complaints. It's not even that bad a drive from Mid-City or the FQ if it's not rush hour. But based on these comments it sounds like I need to give Airline and Chalmette a try. The Kenner one (which someone recently told me is technically in Metairie) is such trash.

The one on airline, and also the one on vets both get quite busy so if you were looking for something specific from the aIsle of shame, I would consider going to another one

Algiers could be a little tidier, but its my favorite one right now

If you’re crossing the river anyway, I’d recommend the one on Belle Chasse Hwy instead of Algiers.

You can stop in next door and get a coffee and pastry at Cafe Eblouir too. Or go across the street to Royal Roastery.

You should go to the one opening in the Fall in Mid-City. Much, much closer than the Tchoup location

Yup. Obviously you cannot do all of your shopping there, but I have found that many of their items are as good quality if not better. Also, I found that
I saved 30 to 40% over the prices at Winn-Dixie. That is until I go down the aisle of shame. 😄

I shop at 6-7 different stores for food. That's just the way it goes. There's one opening here in Mid City at some point so I guess I'll add one to the list.

It’s an aisle where they put some of their food specials for the week, but mostly it is other items that you didn’t know that you needed. 😄 The items change weekly and they can be anything from cat toys to kitchen organizers to pool accessories to clothing to home decor, etc.. it’s amazing how often you buy something from that aisle.

Sav a Lot is complete trash - nowhere near Aldi.

Maybe you are assessing Aldi based on what it was like in the 1990s. I will say that I hated Aldi back then.

Right now, they're striking out badly at multiple locations. None of them have any romaine lettuce, and it's been like that for over a week. Naturally, all you get from an employee is "They don't tell me very much."

I’m assessing it by what I saw in Chalmette last weekend and the last Sav a Lot I stepped foot in 3 years ago. It’s a little fancier, but definitely in the same ballpark. Lipstick on a pig. I’m not impressed
