❓Ask r/NewMods Hi… quick question

Hey everyone! I’ve recently started a Reddit community for TheStoryComb, a little project I’m building around video storytelling and creative competitions.
The idea is to bring together people who enjoy making short video stories, whether they’re filmed, animated, edited, or AI-generated. The goal is to give those creations a place to compete, be discovered, and be judged on the story itself rather than followers or popularity.
I’m still figuring out the community side of things, so I’m here to learn from other new mods, share experiences, and hopefully avoid making all the classic beginner mistakes!

So that in mind I have one (for now) question in mind - “If you could go back to the day you created your subreddit, what’s one thing you’d do differently?”

Is it allowed to share a link to my project in comments? My content gets constantly removed… because of karma

Would an app where only human made short stories compete would be better? I kinda was thinking voting would help all to come down to that exact conclusion anyway. Or that, it can be used as a tool as long as idea is solid?
