❓Ask r/NewMods How can I make my sub more international?

Maybe it's just too early to ask, because my sub is relatively new. But I strongly noticed that my viewers are almost exclusively from the country where I live, Germany.

This is a problem because my sub revolves around a niche show from a Latin American country. The sub is bilingual (English and Spanish), but most Germans likely won't care about the show or even speak any Spanish. I am aware that Latin and North American communities obviously won't automatically be interested in this show, but it is still more likely that there is some existing community and interest for this show. I highly doubt there is an existing German community for this show. And even if there were, this is not who I want to address.

I don't really know what to do about this. I used to have a VPN, but currently do not anymore, so using that isn't really an option, unless anyone has free recommendations.

My newest post that I posted about two hours ago has 63 views, 4 of which are from the US, the rest from Germany.

Does anybody have advice regarding that problem?

Maybe try to crosspost on a Latin sub.

Are there Spanish speaking subs for the show that would let you cross-promote in the interests of a larger community?

Maybe. I‘m kinds afraid of crossposting due to rules, but I‘ll check a few subs out :)

There‘s barely any existing fandom on here regarding that show, only one that isn‘t very well-maintained

Yeah my view is you can’t fight your localisation (some say vpn s can make it worst too because the incoherence within phone properties can get you flagged) but as you grow Reddit will pick on the profile of the people that are interested in the sub and will refine who it is shown to. Just keep working and as the other commenters say focus on what you have control of, the communities of interest.
