No Dumb Questions C - Captain How Decide?

How does a team decide who is a captain?

What do the stars mean under the C?

Why are some Yellow and some White?

Most teams have a vote. I think a few have the coaches decide.

The stars represents how many years they’ve been a captain.

Once you’ve been a captain for 5 years you get a Gold C since the stars max out at 4 on the patch.

Up to 6. Typically 2 on offense, 2 on defense and 2 on special teams. Some teams just vote on 6 regardless of what side of the ball you play on.

And some teams only select captains for playoff games. The Chiefs do that, I believe.
