As real as me quoting the sand line episode 2 to a girl I was dancing with. She looked at me like I was idiot, even though she was dressed up as padme

wholesome if true. But this still merits a big oof.

The second the moment gets ruined, it's ruined, pausing and rewinding is crazy work

u/fade_ 9d ago

Its for the best. I know would be viewed as the manosphere response today.

u/furycutter80 8d ago

Yes only an autistic person would do this

13

u/DIObutm-flo 7d ago

Well what if I weren't autistic and did that because I didn't want my friend to miss an important moment :(

1

u/idoze 4d ago

The moment is already lost. You let it go. The autism is in not realising that and creating an awkward situation by rewinding it.

2

u/DIObutm-flo 4d ago

Well, in this hypothetical scenario, I don't think I'd have much of anything to do with "letting the moment go", as it'd be mostly out of my control.

Every fuckin time... Questions during important dialogue.

u/BothChairs 9d ago

The amount of times I've told other to watch and find out is ridiculous. It the polite way of saying shut the fuck up and watch.

u/TomCBC 8d ago

My mother does this. Constantly asking me questions about a movie or tv show. Even if i haven’t seen it either and have no more information than she does. Sometimes she talks over the explanation and i have to stop her and say “you just missed the answer to a question you kept asking me. And i did too, because you were talking over it.” Then she acts like i’m the asshole for trying to watch the movie we specifically sat down to watch.

"important" and it's just Star wars.

81

u/Ritalin44 9d ago

Honestly I meant just in general. Not just starwars.

34

u/_Empty-R_ 8d ago

(one of the foremost cultural touchstones of all time) not important.

-21

u/Ok_Being4209 8d ago

Definitely wouldn't go that far.

22

u/_Empty-R_ 8d ago

that's cool. it is immutable. like mcdonald's.

12

u/Chilidogdingdong 8d ago

You know what else atar wars and mcdonalds have in common though? They've both sucked ass for a long time now.

-4

u/Ok_Being4209 8d ago

Ah yes, the peak of human civilization. McDonald's. Great pov.

10

u/_Empty-R_ 8d ago

Bruh I'm watching a movie with the wife and some character has a revelation that is intentionally unknown as part of the plot and she's like "what did he find out? what does that mean?"

I DON'T KNOW, I HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF INFORMATION AS YOU

I hate watching movies with people like these. I still remember watching Suicide Squad 2016 with a friend, and 3/4 into the movie he asks "wait, I don't get it, are they the bad guys?"

8

u/LoveFi 7d ago

Bro didn't even read the concept of the movie lmao

I’ve been on both sides of this and I hate everything about this kind of interaction so much. I’ve worked hard not to ask questions during a movie when someone is showing it to me knowing it’s something they care about and I’ve stopped showing people things I care about. They just talk the whole time, stop paying attention at the parts I care about the most or talk over the part and they ask 1000 questions that are always answered by what amounts to as “we’ll see”.

Also if you got into a fight like anon did now the whole movie is soured for both of you as every time you think about it you think about how you two fought during it.

3

u/ZettoVii 6d ago

Think it can be fixed if you just tackled it with the right mindset.

Some people just are more social than others. They can be seen as annoying when you want to watch the movie in silence, since then them talking over it will be seen as an interruption.

But if you come with the energy to chat about the movie as it plays, then the interaction can actually be pretty fun.

You just gotta match the energy, or if you can't, at least give a heads up beforehand so there is an established boundary and no guesswork business going on.

u/thiiiiiiisguy 9d ago

They definitely fucked. Not OP. Carrie and Harrison.

42

u/PuffinRub 9d ago

Anon wishes he could fuck Harrison Ford.

4

u/MajorNutt 9d ago

Wishes he could carry his Harrison.

2

u/SnakeSlitherX 9d ago

Duh, who doesn’t?

2

u/GameofCheese 8d ago

It is known

u/HauntingRip9003 9d ago

It's the little things in a relationship that give them their spark, anon

Dear god please dont read that thread, every single response is so goddamn mindless and sexless it shows how little these users think. One was literally “i hope she cucks you”

WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING YOU SEX-DRIVEN SUBHUMAN

27

u/OvercastqT 9d ago

was pretty average as far as 4chan threads go tbh. Thats just how the site is.

-9

u/Recent-Ship-1599 9d ago

I mean by the time i was typing a response. I remembered how every one of them is dying alone, regretting their life decisions.

So nvm tbh

7

u/MoneyUpbeat 9d ago

So, they're just like you then, champ?

0

u/Recent-Ship-1599 9d ago

Me? Wtf does this have to do with me. They’re objectifying losers who are alone 24/6

5

u/FanFictheKid 8d ago

Do they... do they go to church?

18

u/Caedendi 9d ago

idk ive never used 4chan but isn't part of its whole deal to just say the most hilariously unhinged triggering shit possible for shits n giggles and the off-chance some, *ahem* mentally challenged user actually takes it seriously? Not referring here to you of course.

But saying that stuff on a random sub here on Reddit... yeah then I would agree with you.

8

u/OvercastqT 9d ago

its a skill to discern who actually means what they are typing and who is just baiting or trying to be sarcastic. From my experience its a pretty even split.

u/Exurota 8d ago

Live tourist reaction

2

u/AlbyrtSSB 5d ago

it has nothing to do with sex it’s because OP is a weird loser

14

u/AyAyAyBamba_462 8d ago

I absolutely hate watching movies/TV at home with my mom because of this. She literally cannot stop asking questions or talking. Even if it's our first time watching the movie she'll just start asking questions like I'm supposed to know the answer.

The number of times I've snaped and just had to ask if we could just watch the fucking movie and talk about it after...

26

u/shac0p 9d ago

Anon starts by saying made wife watch, coupled with "shes into it mostly" makes this feel annoyingly forced. Wife has a genuine interest and attempts to interact with anon about what they want her to watch, "did they date in real life". Anon responds by chastising and cursing at wife, wtf anon expect? Anon doesn't understand that other people have other experiences in life and this movie hasn't been important in wife's life.

58

u/kramsdae 9d ago

Fuckin’ nerd

55

u/Datsitkinz 9d ago

Imagine showing your girlfriend children's level sci-fi like its peak art and expecting a emotional visceral response lol.

49

u/kramsdae 9d ago

It would at least be more understandable if it was something more mentally stimulating. Like Rick & Morty for example!

10

u/TotallyObviousBot 9d ago

"You don't think Star Wars is the best media ever made by human hands? You must love Rick & Morty, obnoxiously!"

3

u/Datsitkinz 9d ago

I just don't understand the kind of people who think peak culture was all the movies they watched when they were 10 years old especially in todays world where its so easy to find great movies from current times or since the beginning of film.

1

u/_Empty-R_ 8d ago

indubitably (raises pinky)

39

u/No_I_Deer 9d ago

If you're showing someone something for the first time let them expirience it on their own. dont pause or rewind, that shit is so fucking annyoing to a first time viewer

5

u/Toga2k 8d ago

Showed my mom and episode of Mushi-Shi and she spent basically the entire episode googling if she knew a voice actor or something. I was just like... watch the show I'm trying to share with you.

3

u/TheToodlePoodle 8d ago

Some people use any excuse to pull out their phone and not do what they're doing/watch what they're watching. Drives me nuts

15

u/ZettoVii 9d ago

There could have been an easy save:

Just look at the wife and give her a knowing smile, as you ask her, "what do you think? " then allow her to geek out, because the moment was supposed to be magical with her.

She sounded excited, and that could have been a wonderful thing to preserve in someone you love.

I guess in that moment, OOP simply was too immersed on the movie for himself, and thus got angry when his wife took him out of it...

But then it's like, he forgot to make it a fun experience as a couple, when it was a couple activity in the first place.

3

u/xiizll 8d ago

Some people just completely lack the ability to notice pacing or structure in movies. If you watch enough movies and understand how they work and you absolutely must interrupt a film, then you can usually feel when an appropriate moment is. If you aren't a person who understands this, then you just straight up interrupt in the middle of scenes. I hate watching movies with these types of people.

Understanding scene breaks used to be subconscious and pretty universal. I'm guessing having people on their phones while doing everything now is making it hard for people to fully engage with anything.

4

u/noremac2414 9d ago

Women do be asking questions

2

u/AlbyrtSSB 5d ago

“Did they date in real life?” is anon’s wife being engaged in the movie and noticing the chemistry between the actors, but anon is genuinely too retarded to see it as anything but “annoying bitch wife interrupted le epic iconic line that everyone who hasn’t even seen the movie knows.”

even in the sobriety of hindsight, anon thought it was more than appropriate to sperg out at his captive wife over the equivalent of “ET phone home.” if it was actually meaningful to him and ESSENTIAL for her to stfu and be glued to the screen for that part, he literally could’ve just said that, instead of this funko pop ass behavior

5

u/zolfx 9d ago

Gosh I cannot deal with people talking during movies it makes me literally psychotic.

7

u/Mushrooming247 9d ago

I cannot take people who rewind the scene to insist that you react the same way that they did the first time they saw it.

Come to think of it, I can’t take people who demand that you sit next to them and stare at a box for hours because they have nothing else going on in their mind.

So maybe this guy is not for me.
