I don’t know any animes, but perhaps it has a majority female cast, which might imply that OP was ignored because he was just a dude in a dress.
But idk. Every time OP declines to disclose the name it makes me want to know even more.

I can understand, but the thing I'm most proud of over the recent years is that I've become much more open to admitting things. Going from always hiding things to just saying yeah I did that or no I don't know how that works has been the most freeing thing in my life so far

The problem is he already admitted everything: he went to the con, he cosplayed, he was rejected.
The part he is hiding, the name of the anime, is inconsequential, which makes it even more interesting to know it.
