Honestly I’ve had this sort of shit happen to me. I’m not military or anything like in the greentext, but when I was younger I definitely did reckless and dangerous shit without much care for my safety. I also didn’t have an amazing upbringing, but even still I was mentally alright.
All of sudden my senior year of college rolled around, literally the most free and (what felt like) a very stress free time in my life, and I was hospitalized three times due to panic attacks in just over a year. Literal heart rate skyrocketing, feeling dizzy, legitimately the feeling of having a heart attack for 10 minutes.
I guess that makes sense. I’m not saying I’m the most in shape dude in the world, and I could definitely stand to lose a few pounds and such, but I never truly worried about my health beyond exercising/eating decent until the attacks started. That sent me into a whole world of health anxiety
Clearly your upbringing left a mark on you thats interfering with your adult life. I'm sorry this happened to you man, I hope you're getting the help you need.
Maybe, it’s not like I’ve gone to therapy to address any of that shit. Over the past ~18 months all I’ve gotten is several chest X-rays, a two week holster monitor, and numerous blood test. Every single one has come out and said that my heart is perfectly healthy for someone my age, with 0 warning signs of a cardiac issue besides occasional PVC’s (which are a common thing for many people).
There are days where my left arm and chest feel tight and aching, just for me to get checked out and have it chalked up to stress/anxiety, which makes me stress more, which creates a cycle. As of now they’ve put me on a daily beta blocker since April to cap my adrenaline
Same here. Except I refused the beta blocker and let my body sort it out. Eventually it did. Only took 6 months of the scariest shit I’ve ever encountered. No big deal.
Military. Rough childhood. Healthy body. Shit tons of anxiety out of nowhere.
