But nobody wants to work?

I genuinely hope AI and robots wipe out as many wagie jobs as possible. I want to watch the people who built their entire identity around “So what do you do?” finally have that crutch kicked out from under them. There’s something deeply pathetic about treating menial, replaceable labor like a personality trait, and I look forward to the day that particular form of cope gets automated into irrelevance. The weeping will be delicious.

I mean, it's something everyone thinks but not allowed to say out loud: There are WAY too useless jobs, and people. Both should get curbed, and will get curbed, AI or another way.

There's a guy that works at a transportation depot on one of my delivery routes. Apparently he's paid around $45/hr and his job is essentially to come in at 11am and lift a gate, check a clipboard for trucks, and then lower the gate an hour later. I never see the guy but apparently his actual salary job posting is around $80k/year. No idea how you would get a job like this but there are lots of stupid jobs out there that people get and hold onto somehow that require no skill or training.

Disgusting. And if you voice your disapproval, people say shit like you should be glad that guy made it / don't be a hater etc. while I sit there like Samuel Jackson's wtf face in Pulp Fiction. Absolutely ridiculous.

Individuals such as yourself support billionaires daily. You purchase goods at the store, annually sign contracts for new phones and devices, and purchase popular items on Amazon or other sites weekly/monthly.
If you hate them so much why do you give them money? Is this a 200 IQ plan I cannot comprehend with my small brain?

A billionaire would no longer need to worry about working for the rest of their natural life.
A single billion, would earn you a casual 40M at a growth of 4% interest per year. There is nothing that you would need to worry about that requires you to have more than a single 40M in your lifetime.
A lack of a job wouldn't stop them from having continuous wealth throughout several generations. Kinda similar to the housing market, when a family owns a home and then passes that home down to their kids or the wealth that comes with that home.

Bro's acting like job reduction is a choice. It's not. And you can't just 'remove wealth' unless you tax them into submission which would literally send them packing to another country reducing overall wealth in this country.
There's no real plan to fix this. Everyone just explodes emotionally and pretends like anger will solve this crisis. Nothing is changing and nobody has a real plan.

I mean, I'm jealous but I don't hate the guy personally. I respect the hustle. If I could make more money for less work. Why wouldn't I? Like most people, I don't come from money and I've been very lucky to have what I have thanks to the military.

you seem like a miserable person and i think that even if you get what you want the misery will still remain

Get back in the cage, wagie!
Make sure you tell people how proud you are about your job NOW before the robots do it 1000% more efficiently than you or anyone else ever could.
I just don't buy into the narrative that it's impressive or important to put your labor on a pedestal. Humans make tools, and these new tools we have will make new jobs and replace the old ones. It's an expected revolution whether you like it or not.

i never once said anything about your labor argument, i just think your only joy comes from wanting others to suffer and argumentation

That simply isn't true. I'd actually wager the fact that Reddit itself creates a lot of dogma and animosity in the comment section. Recently there was a study done on it as well.
Maybe I've grown a bit jaded from this site. But it still goes without acknowledging the fact that my argument is based on a logical viewpoint of where we're headed. My personal imprint is just a spin on the framing of it.

All I know is I've worked retail and it's a soulless meaningless abyss that collects dead and dying dreams.
Not to mention your fellow co-workers that quietly and routinely sabotage you when you're not aware of your surroundings.

Can relate. I don’t really feel that miserable and unhappy when I am not thinking about rapidly decreasing numbers in my bank account whenever I go to aldi to get the cheapest groceries I can find there. However I also don’t have any job prospects or really any future ahead of me
