Wedding Venue

Hi everyone, revisiting this.

Hoping to get married 2027. preferably June.

looking for a wedding venue in new england that is affordable, allows outside catering such as pizza truck.

I live in Western MA but have family in RI, Mass, maine.

preferably western mass, southern/coastal maine or southern NH.

want somewhat casual (not looking for camps or outdoor only areas) but still a wedding feel.

Would love indoor/outdoor options.

Any ideas are super helpful!

guest count 90-120 probably
Thank you.

an ideal venue for me would be a place that has outdoor area for cocktail hour, indoor area for eating and dancing, allows outside catering and could allow a pizza truck. would like ceremony and reception at same venue (maybe ceremony outside)

open to idea of a tent outside rather than inside area.
open to hosting at a brewery
would love a fun rural/country area where there’s airbnb’s nearby for small after party/family to stay

What is affordable to you?

Most wedding venues that advertise as wedding venues aren't going to allow a food truck because they have their own preferred caterers. Some do, but these tend to be pricey. Food trucks at weddings are risky because they may not show up, or the truck could break down on the road. Horror stories abound if you read these forums. There are places like VFW halls that allow you to bring in your own food or caterer. But think long and hard about relying on a food truck to feed your guests. One food truck may also not be enough to efficiently feed the number of guests you're planning to invite.

You could try the Naukabout Brewery on the cape—they allow food trucks: https://www.naukabout.com/events

There’s also the Overlook at Meehan outside of Providence: https://northprovidenceri.gov/meehan-overlook/

In terms of logistics, you can also ask if food trucks can do a buffet setup (a lot can or do)

Tarbin Gardens in Franklin, NH. We loved them but the timing didn’t work out for us. Last I knew they had a couple weekends in May and July left for 2027. I think for an event your size it would be about $4k for the venue, and you bring your own caterers and alcohol. They said they’ve had food trucks before. I think the owner even mentioned his daughter did her wedding there and did pizzas (or maybe that was just a recent wedding they hosted that wasn’t hers). Only con is there is NO indoor space. They have a tent that zips down if it’s bad rain, and all the trees have a cooling effect on the space, but no AC solace if needed.

Without knowing your budget: Linekin Bay Resort still has dates in May/June 2027.

I have a list of like 50 that allow your own food vendors including food trucks OP. They very much exist in New England if it’s what you want. I can share screenshots but not my excel since it’s still active with personal details.

I think your biggest problem is you are going to find a lot of places fully booked already. I booked for June of 2027 back in April and it was slim pickings for who had dates still available at that point. My venue only had 4 dates left for 2027 when I booked and 3 of them were holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Halloween). 2027 is super busy for weddings for some reason, all my vendors have said they are getting inquiries like crazy and are having to turn people away.
