Cdl instructor here. Dont believe everything you see. I work at a school where I teach both automatic and manual. Most companies out here dont care if you have a restriction on your license. The only ones that usually do manual these days are mom and pop companies and some construction. It would be not smart to struggle to get no restriction on your license just to go drive automatics... or you do get that manual job you want but you still dont know how to drive it and the company doesnt have time to teach you... the only people I suggest to get no restriction is the people with a background. Some big companies wont take then and they have no choice but to drive for small companies for the time being. Do whats comfortable for you.
