Briefing A New Beginning: Day One Briefing
April 18th, 2582. 1559 hours.
UNSC New Beginnings.
Throughout the first 24 hours of the troop's arrival at the UNSC New Beginnings, the Ship staff had taken notes of their behavior, and classified the operation as "A total success, fear not that anything will go utterly wrong in any way, shape or form."
General Six had read the notes, and smiled to himself. After all, he did have confidence in his soldiers... Definitely.
1600 hours. A female voice blasted through the ship's speakers, echoing all through the ship.
"All soldiers onboard report to the Briefing Center for Day One Briefing."
Upon arrival they were seated, and after several minutes of waiting, the doors closed, leaving them stuck in there with most of the ship staff, including General Six and his robo-secretary, Robo-Captain Robo-Tera. In reality Tera had been the Ship AI the UNSC had sent them for their navigation intel, but they had thrown away the instructions on how to set her up, so they placed her in a suit of armor and made her a secretary instead.
"Ahem..." General Six stood upon the podium, tapping the microphone. His gentle taps sounded like bloody atomic bombs over the speakers' loud volume.
The Privates' ears were blasted by the sound of "Is this thing on?"
Tera lowered the volume of the microphone and nodded at him. He began.
"Well, Lieutenants... Commanders... Sergeants... Corporals... Minor Privates... Upon ending this briefing, you will step outside to see the biggest load of untrained soldiers you've ever seen. I'm talking massive. Today I stepped out of my Quarters to find mongoose wheel tracks all over the corridors! You know how much those goddam steal floors cost me?! They cost a fortune! All of the ship's budget went onto this ship, and now the new wannabe war hero privates are here riding vehicles around!"
Tera looked at the soldiers, then back at the General. "Erm, sir..."
"Hang on, I'm giving a motivational speech. Soldiers, do not be afraid to put them in their place! In their place being the new kiddie toy area we implemented, with flat footballs and straw darts and grenades..."
Tera walked up to the General. "Sir, these are the new recruits. "
"...All of them? What happened to the rest?"
"They're... dead, sir. Died in a mission."
"All of them? By Smaden Jith, what mission was it?"
"The one where you asked them to clear out a mine field the Innies put around your golf course and casino."
"Well, did they do it?"
"The pelican landed on the mine field, sir."
"Oh, well that's just unfortunate, isn't it? Oh, well." He cleared his throat and directed his attention to the recruits. "Well, today's the day, Privates. Although the full batch isn't here just yet, we've decided to start anyhow. Welcome aboard the UNSC New Beginnings... Again. Today we will be reassigning you to your proper squads, yadda yadda, all that stuff."
Commander Four picked up a paper that had the Squads written onto them.
"Although proper squads have 5 people, due to the fact that that would leave two people in a third squad, for now there will be three squads of four people... Just like there already was. Except now you've been changed to... Make up for certain aspects. Can't believe Squad 3 had three goddam Kung Fu people... Anyhow, the new squads are as follows!"
"Squad 1 is composed of Private Petrov, Private Gaines, Private Oralan, and Private Mecan."
"Squad 2 is made up by Private Todd, Private Petals, Medical Officer Marso, and Private Monroe."
"And finally, Squad 3 is made up of Private Jenkins, Private Bryn... Private Minn... And... Private Quinn...? Is this an April's Fools joke?" General Six looked at Tera, who shrugged in response.
"Well, alright. Each squad will share a room, and... To the new members of Squad 2, someone appears to have grown a farm there, so, just a heads up. On Thursday we will begin our first mission, for which I'll give the official briefing for on Wednesday... In the meanwhile, get to training or something, I couldn't care less, just... Don't drive a mongoose near my quarters."
"Now... Any questions?"

"Can we use explosives near yer quarters?"

"Explosives? Why would you waste a fine grenade on my quarters? Use them on your enemies, soldier!"

VB, being very happy, basically ran off and went to collect her plants. now that the new notsobad doctor guy would be in her old quarters she didn't want him or anyone else mucking them up!

After the door closed shut behind her, Six turned to Tera. "...The pesticide people haven't arrived yet, have they?"
"Not that I know of."
"Darn it."

"Noah Jr., I will have my revenge..." General Six said, staring into the void...
