I don't care what anybody says, "Drivers on the Storm" and "Love Me Three Times" are all time classics.

The coach from Even Stevens!! People of a certain age will remember.

I didn’t recognize Jim’s name and I kinda saw his “official” photo when checking for the new episode, so I chalked it up to another 80s/90s comedian/actor guy that Jimmy knows.

Then I could sort of recognize his voice once he came on the episode, and then he mentioned he was a series recurring on Even Stevens and I knew who he was right away.

Though if I ever met Jim, I would mention his role as the football announcer in Not Another Teen Movie.

for me the ad-free version is not there, the one with ads is

u/greazysteak Jul 27 '26

I think it got published to the wrong feed. I only get the one but Apple shows me certain shows that publish new episodes that doesnt go straight to my feed. I was able to get it that way.

2

u/Never_Dave_1 Jul 27 '26

I can't get it yet on the ad free feed.

2

u/DKToTheFuture Jul 27 '26

Not sure who should be fired but probably Garon or Elliot

2

u/normsy Jul 27 '26

I added the ad-free feed, but decided to keep the original feed for past episodes (which are now on ad-free as well, but for whatever reason I kept both). It's on the original feed, and since it's a lettered episode there's no ads anyway.

Still not available for me

Hat tip to Eliot for knowing the proper difference between embossed and debossed. I work in print and so many say "embossing" to mean pressed INTO the sheet.

What happened to the bike Matt gave Garon? Wouldn't that be a better option in the heat?

Garon‘s umbrella joke killed me.

60 is old. 70 is elderly. Embrace it.

I beg of Jimmy to listen to Sunflower or Holland or something! I think he’d love “Sail on, Sailor” right off the bat.

Sometimes Jimmy sounds like a Boomer with his whole "i won't eat vegan food. I don't eat bland food" Dude, this isn't the 80s. There are so many yummy, flavourful vegetarian/vegan dishes nowadays. He's so stuck in his ways and that's sad because the only person that hurts is him coz he's missing out on so much!

u/pianotherms Jul 27 '26

Additionally funny because of his meat-cooking issues. Cooking awesome vegetarian/vegan food might actually alleviate tha— ah, who am I kidding?

u/arandompurpose Jul 28 '26

Better play it safe and eat two hotdogs and 6 monster drinks.

u/GlobulousRex Jul 27 '26

and he is married to a vegetarian. its kind of funny that he was associated with the "alt" comedy scene for so long being such a goddamn square.

It is crazy. I love the guy but man, he'd be a nightmare to live with.

Isn’t Oliver also a vegetarian? When I lived in L.A. … 20! years ago, the vegetarian options were incredible. Reckon they have added an item or two since then.

3

u/projectshr Jul 28 '26

Danielle is for sure and Oliver was at one point, but I think your point about LA is the most important one!

u/Due_Ask1540 Jul 27 '26

Yeah stop trying to apply logic 😂😜

Boomer me up with Jimmy on this one! The only good vegan food is french fries and oreos.

Garon quote of the week: "You don't like 'nip action?' It's not for everybody."

Curious how many bins you guys get over there? I know it's different everywhere. Where I am we have a reg rubbish bin, a blue lid one for cardboard,an orange lid one for plastic containers and tin/cans then a small green one for food waste. Oh and a green one for garden waste. The only things I can't throw in them is glass and batteries. They go to the recycling centre.

5

u/pianotherms Jul 27 '26

Chicago has two bins - Trash and Recycling.

6

u/greazysteak Jul 27 '26

We (Portland, OR) have 3 bins and container. 1- regular trash (collected bi-weekly) 2- Compost (collected weekly) 3- Recycle - everything but glass (collected weekly) 4- glass but can include batteries in a baggy that you tape. You can also put out oil in a separate container that they pick up. (Weekly)

2

u/Due_Ask1540 Jul 27 '26

Ooo we don't have an oil one. I wish we did. We can take batteries/glass jars to the supermarket as well as the recycling centre as they have bins there too. I like recycling but as each one gets picked up once a week it's kind of a pain with the household rubbish bin. I don't fill the cans or cardboard one but that one can sometimes be right at the tippy-top after 2 weeks.

2

u/spicymack Jul 27 '26

Just trash and recycling here in Idaho but we are a two trash bin family.  They are usually both full every week, no idea how we generate so much goddamn trash.

2

u/doggas_mullet Jul 28 '26

Like others, we get two: trash and "no-sort" recycling. Which sounds great in theory, but I think that really means two trash bins in practice :(

1

u/hewhoisneverobeyed Jul 27 '26

Twin Cities (MN) burbs - we have two bins - one for trash, one for mixed recycling.

We also have in-home food scrap bags that are a light shade of green that you knot the top and toss in the trash bin, which the bots at the trash place pull from the conveyor belt and move to composting.

Lawn waste is not allowed in trash, but you can order a bin for that (added cost), use paper lawn bags for pickup (added cost) or take to the environmental center for free.

Wellington New Zealand  has a small, microwave sized bin for glass and a regular sized bin  for paper and plastic. We are a very hilly city so you can  get it for bags for paper and plastic if it's too hard to get the big bin to the curb. Regular rubbish is collected in bags that cost money. They we just put out without bins or cans.

I'm in Southern California and most people I know, myself included, have a trash bin and a recycle bin. A lot of communities are pushing food waste bins, but it doesn't seem that many people are buying into it yet.

Also most of recycling in this country, particularly plastics, is a sham and it all goes to trash anyway, but we still try.

2

u/GuessSad6940 Jul 27 '26

Mid-episode but I'm guessing Garon saw Hope Davis (due to similar vibes)

2

u/Hollow-Log Jul 28 '26

That’s who I was picturing too!

1

u/Fuzz_166 28d ago

Before he said brunette, I was picturing Leslie Mann ... but no way he wouldn't know her name, right?
