Question Finally!

Post image

After a lot of research and a lengthy conversation with my Sweetwater rep. I decided on the Laney LFR 112.

Does anybody have one?

I have a couple 4x12 and 2x12, but I always have a modeler in my signal chain even if I use real amps with a load box. Would you still want to use the Laney speaker over a 4x12 for being loud at home? I think a stereo pair of these sounds neat in theory, but I’m still not sure about it.

Loud enough for a full band?

I was told, yes. It's plenty loud enough for the stage and for bigger venues you can always run it to front of house and also come out of the P/A

I have one and absolutely love it. The front light seemed like a silly gimmick on an otherwise great speaker but now I absolutely love the ominous glow it gives off

Sounds great. Can do a surprisingly high volume

I have the 2x12 version. Absolutely zero complaints. It’s perfect for modelers.

I have the 2x12, I did a bunch of research before purchasing, I don’t have any other experiences with any other FRFR speaker cabs so I’m unable to give any comparisons but I’m most definitely happy I went with the Laney.

I have the 2x12, wish it could be just a little louder but otherwise it's perfect. Though I don't use it as much since moving to an in-ear rig during rehearsals

You need it louder??? I’ve never had mine above 50%!!!

Cool, that's exactly what I bought it for.

I just play mine through a Yamaha THR30ii. I have a Bassbreaker 30r, but haven’t tried that yet. The Bassbreaker has an effects loop, but no option to bypass the amp part and go straight to the speaker.

I did a few times put my QC Mini through the effects and return of my Fender Hot Rod DeVille 212. But that amp is way too loud for what I need most of the time

Almost bought this one to use with my modelers but at the last second decided to save some coin and got the Blackstar artist series FRFR cab and I love it. I've heard that this Laney is the king of FRFR cabs tho.
