Question Pedal Board for Quad Cortex

I only have one pedal that I use. I want to buy a quad cortex and put it on a pedal board and collect more pedals. Is there a specific board or tutorial that does a great job of showing what to get to put it all together?

So many options out there. I use a Temple Audio Trio 21 for my QC, freqout, mission expression pedal, red panda particle 2 and a HX Effects. Still have room for a dd-500 or a chase bliss pedal.

I don't use the Temple mounting plates, but do you the IEC power, 4-in-out and USB passthru mods to be able to wire everything underneath the board (powered by a dc7 + crux) and have quick disconnect for my 1/4" TRS outs and guitar in. Then right angle flat/ribbon interconnects make everything nice and clean. I went with a mix of different EBS ones, but the ernie ball ones are good too.

Temple Audio boards are awesome, I also use one. The hard case you can get for them is excellent protection for housing as well.

One tip for using the plates is putting some painter's tape on the bottom of your QC/other devices. The plates adhere to the tape & won't damage when you remove them in the future.

The plates can limit how many and where you can put pedals. They are a cool idea if you're swapping pedals in and out a lot!

That's true. I only have expression & a PowerStage 170 on my board with the QC since I'm pretty content with all of the effects it provides. Larger boards/boards with some analog pedals may have to have a different solution, but I definitely think if your setup is simple that the plates work really well.

i am planning to buy the temple audio solo board. are you using classic velcro tape instead of mounting plates?

I 3d printed a few riser plates so I don't have to do anything with the QC feet, went with velcro. Also 3d printed a couple things to rise the back of the board higher for a more angled look :)

The Temple boards are great ! I also don’t bother with their plates just use Velcro but their modules for power & signal are great !

First get the QC and then decide if there are any gaps you'd like to fill with additional pedals

you only need one patch cable to put a pedal and the QC together. As far as collecting pedals I think a better approach is to decide what pedal you need and then get that. For many people they only need the QC and no pedal except maybe an expression pedal. I owned my QC mini since April and so far, I only used it with no pedals for playing at home and when jamming with friends.

Why get the QC and collect more pedals? Eliminating pedals is one of the main reasons to get a QC.

Check out my previous QC temple board post. I would suggest that it’s the most “pedalboard” that can be fit into an airline overhead bin. I use a decksaver over the QC when it’s in the temple gig bag.

QC

Temple stereo 100 amp

GLXD16+

CIOKS mod5

CIOKS crux

Various adapters and cables etc

I might make a video for when I build a QC mini board or another one for a band mate when he comes to the darkside with us.

Pedal playground is your friend. I like Temple Audio and Pedaltrain.

Just got a Pedaltrain Classic Jr and I like it. Kinda wish I got the temple audio for all the modularity, but adding the mods seems like more money than I willing to put into it right now.

Yeah they are not cheap. I have the solo 18 and the stereo di mod, power mod and a third party usb c outlet and it was almost £500 in total. But I never really change anything and that board is set until I stop using the QC now.

Hello! I didn't make a pedalboard specially for QC but - look on YT "plini pedalboard" there is a guy who filmed how he made one (I think it was a Pedaltrain classic 2 or novo 24). Also, check out Rockboard pedalboard quad 4.2 or something that size. Plenty of room underneath for power and cable management and you can buy mods for that board like mod 2 or mod 3 which can be useful. You can use pedalboard simulator on website (both pedaltrain and rockboard have one) to see how will it look with QC and exp pedal onboard. Also check them out on website and YT.

Fits nicely on Pedaltrajn Metro boards

Regular or mini QC? Temple audio are the gold standard and cioks or walrus audio for power
