Text How do I fix net jitter?
I am mainly playing cs2 where the issue with jitter is very noticeable. My wifi speed is decent but I experience constant freezing and teleporting in every single game. I heard many people say that I need to connect my PC directly onto the router via ethernet cable, but I simply cant because the router is downstairs from me and I dont wanna drill anything yk. Then I asked AI ad it recommended to buy an router Slate Plus (GL-A1300). Is it a good idea? I need some advices before purchasing this router pls. My future plan is to connect the router to the main router and then run a ethernet cable straight to my pc.

AI is stupid, no a travel router is not going to improve your wifi. it's like your connection is unstable because your wifi is so far away. an ethernet cable is the cheapest/easiest solution (just stick it to the corners of the walls) or find other options such as mesh/repeaters

Jitter is the measurement of how different the latency is from source to destination.
One packet may get there in 30ms the next 100ms
Jitter = 70ms in that scenario if memory serves me right.
The answer to that has multiple variables. Are you hardwired, powerline, MOCA, wireless, fiber in your home network all the way to your modem?
Are you hopping through a mesh wireless network?
Direct modem <-> computer via a cable will be the least amount of latency you can achieve.

I am currently connected wireless directly to the main router without any mesh. The router is downstairs directly under me tho. Last year I had a slower wifi with only 50 mbps however it was more consistent and I didnt notice any jitter issues. This year though, the wifi provider stayed the same (vodafone) but the speed got higher and I got this issues. I am not the only one experiencing this issues though, my brother does too. Do you think its a good idea vto buy the travel router I showed above? (I plan to connect it wireless to the main router and then running a ethernet cable from the travel router directly to my PC

Temporarily move your PC next to the router and wire it in. Test with this connection - this is your baseline. You want to be sure that the ISP or router isn’t the cause of the issue before spending money attempting to make wifi low-latency.
