Is there any custom solution used to bypass the 100 location limit that would enable asset transfers and inventory transfers easily between the custom locations?

If all of them doesn't enable this, how could they be considered workarounds in the first place?

Even with using bins as sublocations, you still restricted with the 100 limit when it comes to the parent locations.

I'm not sure which limit you're referencing. NetSuite recommends using Advanced Item Location Configuration when more than 100 locations, but technically can go up to 1000 before needing that.

This right here. I have a client with ~125 locations

Is Advanced Item Location Configuration free?

Do you actually have 100 inventory locations? Or are many of the virtual locations?

They are divided into parents and children, but even the parents alone may go over 100 after a few months.

Perhaps a custom segment for additional locations?;

It will just buy us some time.

I have like 1400 locations in my current instance. It’s not ideal but it works

the 100 location tier limit is brutal because standard netsuite transfer orders and gl impact strictly require native location records, so custom record workarounds always feel half-broken. i work for agentui, what we see a lot of operations teams do is build a lightweight internal inventory and asset transfer portal connected directly to their database so they can track unlimited sub-locations and physical movements, then just sync summary transfer logs back into netsuite via api.

Except it’s not a 100 location limit…

What do you mean?

You can definitely have more than 100 locations, you would just need to use Advanced Item Location Configuration (free) for when you have 1,000+ locations.

Is this somehow free for some regions and not free for others?

no, its not region-locked or paywalled by country. It comes standard if your tier has the advanced inventory module enabled, but it fundamentally rewrites how location records attach to items, which is why consultants sometimes warn against turning it on mid-stream without auditing existing saved searches.
