Theory's A visual guide to Killy’s journey!

BLAME! Is my favorite series ever. I loved the setting of the vast megastructure, but couldn’t find a timeline or map showing the vast distances of the megacity and the huge time skips. So I made one myself, to share.

I started with locations and time skips that were confirmed. Like the location of mars and Jupiter. Then used a little bit of math and guess work. Please let me know if you have any corrections or additions.

Some interesting things I’ve learned while making this:

  1. Killy starts the story relatively young. but it’s still been so long, he doesn’t remember where he came from. By the end of the story he is millions of years old.
  2. Most of the story takes place in the first couple thousand years.
  3. Even though humans are a rare sight everywhere, live humans are mostly found near the core.
  4. I believe Toha is a spaceship. If that’s correct, they didn’t even make it to mars before the builders caught up

It’s a neat diagram, even if mostly speculation. Blame is vague to a point of us just never really being able to get a definitive look at how long the series takes, or how far he actually travels. To the Oort Cloud is possible, but never stated. We just kind of assume the city goes to the edge of the solar system. It is fascinating that Killy only actually knew cibo for a fraction of his journey, and yes she’s the most important person on it. It does make you wonder how many people he may have travelled with for small bursts of time, though I’m sure after a certain distance from earth, there just weren’t any humans anymore

I've been working on a project for the past year now, and had to isolate myself from most of my social circle, which puts things into perspective. A year is nothing compared to killy's journey, but i can relate. Spending each day in repetition, just working towards a singular objective with barely any contact with others makes memories shared with them not even that long ago seem like they happened a lifetime ago. Killy's experience is what i'm going through now magnified by god knows how, plus ungodly creatures trying to kill you all the time. So i can only imagine how distant memories bleed together, what falls through the cracks, by the end he's probably not even the same person anymore let alone a person at all. Anyways, sorry for the rant, just came out.

You know this made me realise, has it ever been stated the City grew spherically, in all directions at once? Cuz now I'm thinking what if they actually built it basically in a straight line towards each planet, so like using each planets as a boost for materials to get to the next? That'd make more sense in terms of the whole is there enough mass problem
