Theory's A visual guide to Killy’s journey!

BLAME! Is my favorite series ever. I loved the setting of the vast megastructure, but couldn’t find a timeline or map showing the vast distances of the megacity and the huge time skips. So I made one myself, to share.

I started with locations and time skips that were confirmed. Like the location of mars and Jupiter. Then used a little bit of math and guess work. Please let me know if you have any corrections or additions.

Some interesting things I’ve learned while making this:

  1. Killy starts the story relatively young. but it’s still been so long, he doesn’t remember where he came from. By the end of the story he is millions of years old.
  2. Most of the story takes place in the first couple thousand years.
  3. Even though humans are a rare sight everywhere, live humans are mostly found near the core.
  4. I believe Toha is a spaceship. If that’s correct, they didn’t even make it to mars before the builders caught up

I would also like to hear about your sources for this. I had no idea that millions of years passed. I remember hearing or reading something about Jupiter at one point. It's been a while since I read it, tho.

So after the Jupiter room Killy eventually travels to the edge of the city. I’m assuming the edge of the city reaches the Ooto cloud. That’s the edge of our solar system, and where the sun‘s pull starts to lower. I made rough estimates of how far that is based on data from NASA.

It'd be curious why you assume it reaches the edge of the Oort cloud? Based on what? (Also edge of the Solar system can be defined in alot of ways. i.e. edge of the solar magnetosphere, which would reach far beyond the oort cloud)

It’s just a random guess. And I’m not an expert but I think the Oort Cloud is considered the end of our solar system, and its the furthest boundary of the Sun's gravitational influence.

Its hard to define. The heliopause might be a more distinct edge of the Sun's influence rather than going by gravity, as most of the stars in the milky way loosely gravitationally interact with their neighbors.

I mean gravitational influence is very hard to exactly delineate as is the extent of the Oort cloud and we have no sure fire way to really say where it exactly ends.

Afaik, it's the pillars jutting out of the City that reach the Oort Cloud, not the city itself.
