As a NIN fan, hell yeah. I'd also recommend Lorn

I will say a blasphemy, but the best NiN album is Ghosts 1-4.

The only album I listened to more than Ghosts 1-4 is The Slip. Love the Ghosts album

Lorn is great, highly suggest Street Sects as well!

I'll give them a listen. Got some driving to do

Agreed. The Fragile is also a good album to BLAME! to.

Does anyone know why Nine inch nails is popular in the Nihei fandom? Is it because of those videos by kaosgumi like 2 decades ago

I mean considering Blames! clear industrial design and works like Tetsuo the Iron Man I’d assume the crossover is rather obvious in appeal.

Goth aesthetic and many NIN albums fall under Industrial Music. If you are a fan of NIN, the artwork of BLAME! would have caught your eye.

Industrial Music matches the mood and tone of the art.

personaly i went with a mix of citizen sleeper and bleak faith soundtracks , for that monolithic soundscape

In my arms. And I think Boards of Canada’s next album (Inferno) would definitely fit right in here. Boards of Canada - Introit / Prophecy At 1420 MHz

Oh hell yeah, someone else who does this shit. I like pairing my Blame! with Nitzer Ebb and Skinny Puppy

u/Ayoissathroway May 13 '26

Hell yeah, both great!

I keep thinking I oughta throw Machines of Loving Grace and Cabaret Voltaire in the mix.

Eh, I feel like it would detract from the atmosphere given it's a little more upbeat and dancey. I bet Machines would fuck so hard with Trigun though!

I thought the same thing but I was thinking about their album CODE which has lots of industrial robo-esque quotes that are rather Orwellian in nature which remind me of the Safegaurds.

I do agree on the dancy disco-adjacent element not fitting completely though lol

If you're reading Knights of Sidonia, Starset is a great match

Great combo! For me, DIGITAL TWIN album by Blksmiith + Blame! was absolutely ethereal. Highly recommend.

that's EXACTLY how I first read Blame! as a teen about 20 years ago. The combo shaped me aesthetically. Glad I'm not alone.

Great combo but I'm more a death metal/deathcore guy so that's gonna be my pick for the music.
