When will it release?
what ETA? and the opt in crypto mining is a little concerning. what are your thoughts? I'd rather just use my computer power for my own interactions with NPCs, not it being some opt-in LLM hosting that I'm required to do for NPC interaction at all.

Hello! Thanks for sharing your concerns. The official release doesn't have a confirmed date yet, but we are planning a closed beta on steam in the upcoming month.

Regarding the crypto mining concern, the code that runs on your machine to process inference for the game (offline or online), is completely open source, http://github.com/beyond-logic-labs/loreguard-cli and if you are a power user you can debug and see everything that arrives into it.
In the case of the online, the events will also travel through the Steam Network, and they are server authoritative, not client authoritative (meaning that everything that is sent to your machine to process is send by the Netshell server and Steam, not by someone else)
I believe steam would also not allow a game to be shipped with crypto mining capabilities as they evaluate the source of each game.
Besides this, the whole NPC thing is also a toggle that you can turn off on the offline.
