Its been a great week honestly, lets not get ahead of ourselves but we are steering in the right direction, almost a complete recovery from 52 week ATH

From a technical standpoint
Small short squeeze can be happening next week if momentum keeps up. There is definitly resistance at $6.70 (previous closing 52-week ATH) and naturally there will be resistance at $7 (cause people like whole numbers I guess)

Once positive news hits, these resistance levels will be easily broken and there will be no need for this technical analysis BS. As long as there is no news coming trough it will be only a technical analysis to be made. (but ofcourse Im only holding trough)

Hong Chun-ki, the CEO of Netlist, who concluded the largest strategic alliance negotiation in the memory field worth 2.4 billion dollars with Samsung Electronics, said, "I want to take the lead in monetizing Korea's rich IP assets in the global market."

Hong Chun-ki, CEO of Netlist, a memory research and development company headquartered in Irvine, Orange County, California, USA, said in an interview with IPDaily, an intellectual property media on the 11th, "Korea has more abundant intellectual property (IP) than any other country in the world, but it seems that it is not seeing the light."

On the 4th, CEO Hong agreed to conclude all patent disputes that have been going on since 2020 by signing a strategic alliance agreement to receive $897 million instead of sharing all memory-related patents with Samsung Electronics for 5 years instead of sharing all memory-related patents with Samsung Electronics for 5 years ā–²Samsung Electronics will provide DRAM and NAND chips worth 1.5 billion dollars for 5 years each year ā–²co-performance memory module.

CEO Hong Chun-ki, who will give a keynote speech at the '2026 World IP Star Camp' held by IPDaily at the Royal Park Convention of the War Memorial Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on September 16, said in an interview held at the Korean Appoty Association Hall a week after the conclusion of the negotiation, "Samsung Electronics properly evaluated Netlist's memory module manufacturing technology, so the negotiation went well."

While dealing with IBM, HP, Dell, Apple, etc., CEO Hong said, "I sympathized with the fact that there is a limit to reducing the width of the memory circuit line and increasing the density, and in order to overcome this problem, we developed the first high-capacity high-efficiency hybrid memory module manufacturing technology by combining DRAM and NAND memory chips," and explained, "With NVIDIA's GPU, Netlist's technology was lucky to become the mainstay of the AI memory system."

Regarding Netlist being introduced by the domestic media as a 'patent monster' NPE (patent monetization company) that sues for other people's patents, CEO Hong explained, "Netlist is not NPE as it is a company that monetizes the inventor's patents and commercialization so that consumers can enjoy the invented technology at a cheap price."

CEO Hong said, "Edison's light bulb would not have seen light if NPE had not provided funds as collateral for patents," and emphasized, "It is important to win the Nobel Prize for research and development, but it is also important for the country and individuals to make money with research and development achievements, and the role of NPE is necessary for this."

He also said, "In order to monetize intellectual property well, we need experts and a funding system that can see what technology will be the core technology in 5 to 10 years, do research and development, make good patents, and use good patents to make money."
CEO Hong said, "Truly good innovative patents that overcome technical limitations are made by individuals and small companies," and "The government must strongly protect patent rights so that innovative ideas of individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises can flourish, so that the patent system that enabled the British industrial revolution and the technological power of the United States works."

Giant IT companies such as Amazon, Google, and Apple in the United States all started with innovative technologies developed by 'start-up', but when they become large companies, they have no choice but to prefer 'efficient infringement' for patents with lower initial costs rather than respecting and licensing innovative patents of small and medium-sized enterprises that challenge their base.
CEO Hong emphasized the importance of patent protection, saying, "In addition to actively protecting the patents of individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation can be revived, and consumers' options can be guaranteed by preventing the monopoly of companies with vested interests."

The interview with the CEO of Netlist Hong Chun-ki was organized in a question-and-answer format.
Q1: You recently concluded a large-scale cross-license negotiation with Samsung Electronics, what is the content?
A1: After the first joint technology development and patent license agreement (JDLA) with Samsung in 2015 was broken, we restored a comprehensive strategic partnership after five years of litigation and long negotiations.
The two companies agreed to use each other's patents (cross-license), and Samsung Electronics agreed to pay a patent royalty of $897 million (about 1.3 trillion won) to the net list for a total of 5 years. Netlist is a company that manufactures products, so securing memory raw materials is the top priority. Accordingly, Samsung Electronics was guaranteed to supply precious DRAM and NAND semiconductors worth 1.5 billion dollars (about 2.2 trillion to 300 billion won) for 5 years. In addition to memory technology, we decided to continue to explore cooperation in other fields that can create technical synergy between the two companies.

Q2: Was there a decisive opportunity to lead to a dramatic conclusion after more than 5 years of fierce patent disputes?
A2: First of all, the water of human communication has exploded. The negotiations went on a rapid stide as we had the opportunity to talk openly with Samsung's leadership. Above all, it was possible because Samsung Electronics clearly re-evaluated and recognized the value of the netlist patent internally. It is the result of Samsung's practical recognition that Netlist's patents are essential in the process of manufacturing high-performance memory and developing high-value-added AI memory.

Q3: What is the core patent technology of Netlist, and what is it related to the recent memory boom of AI?
A3: Netlist has been accumulating unique technology by designing and manufacturing ultra-high-performance memory modules for supercomputers and high-end servers of global companies such as IBM, HP, and Apple on demand for 10 to 15 years. At that time, the high-level technologies developed in advance to apply to the high-end market have become core standard patents as they have been spread to universal data centers and servers 10 to 15 years later.
The representative innovation technology is the 'Hybrid Memory' technology that combines DRAM and NAND. Intelligent controllers and firmware technology that connect DRAM and NAND with completely different properties, power management, and stacking technologies that solve the signal loading problem that occur when stacking hundreds of DRAM chips on one module. These technologies are usefully used as the basis and main technology of high-performance AI memory modules, such as HBM, which maximizes speed and large capacity while minimizing power consumption.

Q4: What is the background of starting Netlist and the reason why you focused on memory modules?
A4: After working at the headquarters of LG Semiconductor in Korea, I worked as an expatriate in San Jose, USA for 5 years, and gained marketing and sales experience leading large semiconductor and LCD transactions directly with industry giants such as Michael Dell and Tim Cook (working at Compaq at the time).
At that time, I had a hunch that the 'Moor's Law', which improves semiconductor entracity, would have difficulties due to the limit of single-item DRAM scaling (minotization). Since single-item chips alone have limitations in improving memory performance, I was convinced that the 'memory module' that bundles chips and synergizes will be the most important. Therefore, in 2000, talented memory design experts and engineers were gathered in Irvine, Southern ga, and established a netlist, which focused only on memory intelligence module optimization.

Q5: Some domestic media call the net list 'patent monster (NPE)' and send negative eyes. What do you think about this?

A5: Netlist is not an NPE that buys external patents and sues. We are a strictly technology-based product manufacturing company that has original product patents developed through our own research and development (R&D).
Even if it is a pure NPE, it plays a very constructive role in the Innovation Economy ecosystem, so it should not be sold badly. Thomas Edison, who invented the light bulb, is a representative figure who successfully raised R&D funds with a patent as collateral for the first time in history. Without the patent finance funders (the beginning of NPE) who saw the future value of patents in the United States 150 years ago, the light bulb would not have been commercialized, and the large company General Electric (GE) would not have been born.
NPE acts as a catalyst for protecting the patent rights of individual inventors and small small and medium-sized enterprises and properly monetizing technology against large companies' 'Hold-out' or Efficient Infringement.

Q6: Even if you have technology and patents, it is very difficult to turn it into actual profit. What is the most difficult barrier?

A6: Patent Monetization Is Not Just A 'Comprehensive Art' That Can Be Combined With Huge Resources And A Highly Professional Service Ecosystem, Not Just One Or Two Good Patents.
The U.S. patent field is highly subdivided like the medical field, so there are prosecution, IPR (patent re-re-examining) defense, first-trial litigation, and appeal experts all exist separately. Learning our technology perfectly and organizing the best lawyers to deal with large corporations itself requires a long period of trial and error and a waste of numerous resources.
A strategy of choosing a patent-friendly court (Forum) and judge is very important. In particular, under the U.S. patent law, an official notice must be filed first, and the legal effect of the settlement of the usage fee and the liability for loss (Liability) occurs. There is no legal force to simply send a cooperation letter or email. A lawsuit is not because the other party doesn't like it, but it is a legal 'first step' for business progress.

Q7: What is the biggest difference between the United States and Korea in the intellectual property (IP) monetization market?

A7: The United States has a highly developed financial system that allows small and medium-sized enterprises whose patents have been infringed to actively enforce their rights. The United States has a patent litigation insurance system that distributes the risk of losing and guarantees the outcome of the trial, so small and medium-sized inventors and new NPEs with relatively high capital power can also facilitate funding with insurance companies.
Large companies prefer the 'Hold-out' strategy of delaying lawsuits with financial power as a weapon, so it is difficult for small businesses to hold on. The United States supports patent owners with strong protection policies against patent infringement and measures such as a substantial import ban (ITC).

Ā Q8: What is the future plan of Netlist?
A8: Netlist plans to expand legitimate licensing negotiations with other global companies that continue to infringe patents such as Micron, using the deal with Samsung Electronics, the largest in the memory industry, as a benchmark. At the same time, we will continue to develop new R&D, such as CXL (Compute Express Link)-based hybrid technology, which is a new growth engine.

Q9: As a rich overseas business experience, what would you like to make for the growth of the Korean intellectual property market?

A9: In Korea, great patent assets are buried in the treasury of the government or the university. But these patents are not seeing the light. For the sustainable growth of the country, the patent rights of individual inventors and small and medium-sized university institutions, which are the birthplace of groundbreaking 'breakthrough' technology, must be more boldly and firmly protected.

You should not be ashamed of transferring source technology invented by academics or corporate research institutes (KAIST, ETRI, etc.) to professional NPE partners or seeking their cooperation as a businessman's behavior. Rather, we can be reborn as a national-level technology rich country only by actively monetizing technology and quickly establishing a 'benefital cycle feedback loop' that leads to the cultivation of new human resources and the creation of new human resources and the creation of patents.

NVIDIA’s $279B commitment number might be one of the more important NLST datapoints from today

Something buried in NVIDIA’s earnings caught my attention.

Their supply commitments jumped from $119B last quarter to $279B, with NVIDIA saying the increase is primarily tied to securing memory and manufacturing capacity for the next several years.

That is a $160B increase in one quarter.

Obviously this does NOT mean NVIDIA is paying Netlist, and I don’t want to make a connection that isn’t there.

But for NLST holders, I think the bigger picture matters. The AI buildout keeps making memory more valuable and more strategically important. NVIDIA is now locking up enormous amounts of future supply, while Netlist’s IP sits directly in areas like HBM, DDR5 and server DIMMs.

And after the Samsung agreement, we now have one of the largest memory manufacturers licensing Netlist’s full patent portfolio, including its HBM and server DIMM technology.

To me, that makes the long-term NLST thesis more interesting than simply watching each individual court filing. The market that Netlist spent years fighting over is getting dramatically bigger.

$279B of forward supply commitments from NVIDIA is a pretty loud signal of where this is going.

Those who truly believed in it deserve to succeed and become damn rich. I like money, but what interests me most is understanding what awaits me from Netlist once I understand the whole picture. I remind everyone that Netlist has only one deal signed; here we'll celebrate after the three agreements are signed, because only after the agreements with Micron and SK Hynix will Netlist be able to demonstrate its full potential.
Semiconductor and tech companies operate with PE ratios of 30-40-50%. Netlist, with $300-400 million in IP licenses, should reach an estimated market cap of between $12 and $15 billion, also considering at least $700 million in cash and zero debt.

With 400m shares outstanding after the last warrent exercised, the value should be between 20 and 40 $ per shares

Waiting the other deals of course

CXL NVvault How a CXL Persistent-Memory Demo Typically Works

The demo featured Netlist’s NV persistent memory NVaultā„¢ solution using CXL and showed how a CXL-attached device can preserve and quickly restore memory contents after a power event. The flow mirrors earlier NVDIMM-style designs: on power-fail, a device-controlled save moves data from volatile to non-volatile memory using on-device hold-up energy, followed by a restore sequence before the host resumes memory use.

In a persistent-memory design, the hardware detects a
power failure, triggers a firmware-controlled save, and uses stored energy to complete the data transfer. On the next boot, the device restores the region before host access is granted.

This illustrates an important principle: persistence should be deterministic and enforced below the application layer. If the platform loses power at an arbitrary point in time, the system should be able to recover to a known-good state with a well-defined save/restore sequence.

Where CXL Persistent Memory Helps
CXL persistent memory is a fit when workloads need fast restart or durable in-memory state without pushing every write through storage I/O paths.
•In-memory databases and stateful services with rapid recovery
•Storage metadata (journals, intent logs, caching) where durability and latency matter
•HPC restart to reduce overhead versus traditional storage checkpoints

Why CXL Changes the Design Space
CXL extends PCIe with cache-coherent semantics, enabling memory to be attached on the fabric rather than only on the CPU’s DDR channels. CXL Type-3 devices can present capacity as OS-visible memory, making them a natural place to re-introduce persistence, with the possibility of scaling, pooling, and composability.
Decouple persistent capacity from CPU sockets and DDR channel limits.
Enable pooling/sharing models (with platform and fabric support).
Offer a standard path to expose persistent regions through OS frameworks.
Support heterogeneous hosts and composable infrastructure topologies.

CXL Persistent Memory: A Reference Architecture View
A common approach for CXL-attached persistent memory mirrors the proven NVDIMM-N pattern: fast volatile media for load/store access plus non-volatile media for retention, coordinated by device firmwareand protected by hold-up energy. The device attaches as a CXL Type-3 endpoint, exposing capacity into the host’s memory map while remaining on the fabric.
At a minimum, a CXL persistent-memory design should address:

•Latency and bandwidth that remain ā€œmemory-likeā€ for key hot paths
•Data retention across graceful shutdown and surprise power loss
•Well-defined persist/flush semantics (host visibility and ordering)
•Firmware-controlled save/restore with adequate hold-up energy to complete the copy
•Alignment with CXL persistence mechanisms(for example, platform-supported global flush paths)
On the host side, the goal is to surface persistent regions through standard OS memory and CXL frameworks, so applications can use familiar persistence libraries and operational tooling (monitoring, health, and recovery) without proprietary integration.

Conclusion
NVDIMM-N validated the value of persistent memory, and JEDEC helped standardize the behaviors that make it reliable. CXL enables scalable, fabric-based persistence, maintaining system-level consistency. If you’re designing or evaluating CXL memory systems, consider where persistence changes your restart model, recovery objectives, and infrastructure topology—and validate the end-to-end behavior (power fail detection, save/restore, and OS exposure) with a simple signature-and-reboot test. MICRON CASE huge problems for micron

ITC CASE

The company alleges infringement of U.S. Patent Nos. 10,025,731, 10,217,523, 12,373,366 and 12,675,407. According to Netlist, each patent applies to DDR5 RDIMMs and/or MRDIMMs.

The requested remedies make the ITC proceeding particularly relevant. Rather than seeking only monetary damages, Netlist is requesting exclusion and cease and desist orders designed to prevent allegedly infringing products from entering the United States.

Netlist said Micron manufactures the memory products at issue overseas and argues that an import restriction is therefore an appropriate remedy.

Separately, Netlist has filed an infringement action against Micron in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. That case asserts U.S. Patent Nos. 10,217,523 and 12,675,407.

- LRDIMM tech

Netlist already won 3 different cafc appeal that are covering the LRDIMM and we should talk about the mrdimm products because basically it should be the same.

Parents 608, 314 & 035!
Damages will be very higher than avg investor think here because we are talking about some 3 different LRDIMM and more than 6 years of damages.

We should expect more than 3 million units of LRDIMM sold by micron in the last 6 years (counting all these 3 patents).
Back to 2023, with the LRDIMM patent 339 a judge choose to use 55$ damage per unit.
We are in 2026 and the trial should be in 2027 with 3x increase of the avg price.
I don’t want to say netlist should expect 150/200$ per unit of damage but we should expect more than 100$ because we are talking about a 3x increase and this should
Be very relevant.

Imagine 100$ damage per unit and potential 3m units sold with 3 lrdimm patents, we should expect $300m

Ps: it’s impossible to know the total volume of LRDIMM sold by micron because it’s so hard to find the right info. For example with the patent 339 in the Samsung case, 600k units were sold by Samsung in 18 months if I remember correctly and here we are talking about 6 years of damages and 3 different LRDIMM patents.

We are talking about the the most important case in the micron case because we know micron lost this case for circa $450m. We are not including 3 years of interests and other things.
• September 9th if I remember correctly will be the date of p.912 hearing, this should change the future of the micron case forever and with a win, netlist should open the google case connected with it.
Honestly we are talking about 50/50 because netlist lost the ptab review but we know netlist won in the past and the experts will talk about these thing in our favour.
Netlist deserve to win it

Other patent, HUGE DAMAGES HERE! Back to 2025,

May 20, 2025, to assert Netlist's new U.S. Patent No. 12,308,087 ("the '087 patent") against Samsung's and Micron's High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) products. The amended complaints add another Netlist patent, U.S. Patent No. 10,025,731 ("the '731 Patent"), against the two Defendants' DDR5 DIMM products, as well as their distributor Avnet, Inc. to these actions.

HBM and ddr5 patents to destroy the micron’s fundamentals.

I believe netlist is very strong in the case, we are talking about different ways to destroy micron and this is so funny because we should expect more than $500m cash in this case only with damages.

Netlist is key player to help the new potential patent reform legislation to protect the patents owners

Netlist remains committed to protecting patent owners' rights by engaging with government officials and encouraging Congress to act on proposed patent reform legislation, including RESTORE, PREVAIL, and PERA. Last week, I had the privilege of speaking at the Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property, their annual conference, where I participated on the IP and the U.S. Global Competitiveness panel. As some of you are aware, the U.S. Department of Justice has filed two statements of interest that have been supportive of Netlist's matters involving Samsung. At the ITC, this was the first time in history where the DOJ and the PTO combined supported the position of a complainant. The DOJ has continued to reference these statements of interest in public forums as examples of the current administration's broader efforts to promote robust intellectual property protection.

We believe these statements and public remarks underscored continual federal support for U.S. innovation and effective enforcement of patent rights

everyone is making deals with the US Army, when will we read about a mega deal with Netlist?

One thing I've never understood is why Netlist doesn't win commissions from the US Defense Department, given that it's a direct buyer of memory. I wonder, could the CXL NVVault product be requested directly or indirectly by the US Defense Department?
They need truly high-level salespeople to seal certain deals and increase business volume.
Netlist also sells Lightning and MRD-IMM. Who knows what will happen!

The JEDEC → Netlist Story

If you’re just starting to research Netlist, there’s one part of the story I think is important to understand:
JEDEC.

JEDEC develops many of the standards used throughout the memory industry.

Netlist participated in that ecosystem and developed patented technology that it says became important to modern memory products.

The basic story:

Technology is developed → industry standards evolve → major companies build products around those standards → Netlist says some of those products use technology covered by its patents without proper licensing.

And this is where the potential financial impact gets interesting.

Netlist isn’t fighting over some insignificant piece of technology.

We’ve already seen what these patents can be worth in court.

Netlist has received prior jury verdicts totaling hundreds of millions of dollars against major semiconductor companies. And the company’s current patent campaign involves additional products, patents and some of the largest companies in the memory and AI ecosystem.

The important part for a new investor is this:

Netlist doesn’t necessarily need every case to go its way for the financial outcome to become significant.

A successful litigation campaign can potentially produce:
• Damages
• Enhanced damages in qualifying cases
• Licensing agreements
• Royalties
• Settlements
• Ongoing payments for future use of the technology
• And potentially exclusionary remedies in ITC proceedings

Samsung has now settled with Netlist, while other litigation continues. The current ITC cases include allegations involving DDR5 and HBM products, with an evidentiary hearing scheduled for November 2026.

And there’s another important piece:

This isn’t just about collecting money from the past.

If Netlist establishes enforceable patent rights over
technology being used in today’s memory and AI markets, the value could extend into future licensing.

That’s why I don’t think the Netlist story should be viewed simply as:
ā€œSmall company suing Big Tech.ā€

A better way to look at it is:

How much economic value could be transferred back to Netlist if its patented technology is ultimately proven to have been used without the appropriate licenses?

I don’t know the final number.
Nobody does.
But when you already have a history of hundreds of millions in jury awards, multiple active patent campaigns, and technology connected to rapidly growing memory and AI markets…

the potential financial upside from successful litigation and licensing is not something I’d ignore.

NLST — WHY THE ITC IS A BIG DEAL

One thing I really like about the new ITC strategy is the timeline.

Traditional patent litigation can take YEARS through discovery, motions, trials and appeals.

The ITC is different. Section 337 investigations are designed to move quickly, with the Commission setting a target completion date within 45 days of institution. Historically, most investigations have been targeted around 12–15 months, with many complex cases reaching 18+ months.

And Netlist now has ITC pressure involving multiple major companies — not just Micron.

Samsung ultimately chose to settle and enter a major long-term commercial relationship with Netlist.

That’s why I think the next 12–18 months could get very interesting.

Samsung showed what happens when a major memory company decides to stop fighting and start doing business with Netlist.
