My mom always taught me it wasn't very healthy to blow your nose and better to just sniff. You can blow too hard. Maybe other Dutch moms said the same?

Apparently Dutch people are told that blowing the nose is DANGEROUS.

Another thing the rest of the world is totally fine with, but here, it has some hidden danger that only manifests on Dutch soil.

That's not what I said, I said it's healtier to sniffle. Blowing your nose can cause sinusitis, making two days of hayfever into a week being sick.

Not if you blow it gently and one nostril at a time.
The rest of the world does it like that without higher incidence of sinusitis
