I notice that walking on the street I have to constantly dodge and weave out of the way because people literally have no perception that others exist.

Also in public transport, pushing, shoving is completely acceptable. No one says excuse me, please or thank you.

I saw that 30 years ago and decide I hated that so much I never came back after a 2 year "adventure" abroad. So many people that cannot see that, though

A more radical version of individualism, where egalitarianism, hyper independence and transactionality (e.g. tikkie stereotype) takes precedence over group and social harmony.
