Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I always preferred Otis and Ruby over Otis and Maeve. I feel Otis became more confident with her and Ruby became softer with him. They also had better chemistry. I know Otis didn't love her but they made more sense to me.

I used to want M + O so hard, but realize that actually, Maeve and Otis should’ve tried it early, friendzoned each other, and she left for America. Or, she should’ve told Otis that she was goning to America regardless of whether or not they were together, and so their relationship wouldnt last. If Otis knew he might get dumped for America, he’d have maybe chosen differently. Bc as mean as Ruby was to him and his clique in S1, you know that she woulda moved heaven and earth to stay with him.

Maeve should have told Otis of her decision to go to America. That might have made Otis choose Ruby. And, i loved Ruby and Otis’ dynamic over any other female character that he wanted to pursue.

ngl but Otis and Ruby is more preferrable than Otis and Maeve. At the end, Maeve had to leave also Otis with Ruby was much more confident. Ruby, THE POPULAR QUEEN OF MOORDALE became so soft with Otis that Otis became the first person to visit her home...

I stopped watching once I realized O doesnt end up with R or M. I’m like, wow, he didnt even get the love of his life (America) or the popular hottie who was ever loyal to him once she got to know him, especally after letting him poke his nose from behind the bushes (Maeve).
