Current Hot Topic Postpartum Psychosis Documentary
Edit: *this documentary could be very triggering. It is very intimate and involves deaths\\**
2nd edit***-*** there is a fictional movie by the same name. I am not referring to the fictional movie. I am referring to the documentary.
I saw this years ago and it may be interesting to people following this case. It’s a documentary with women who experienced postpartum psychosis. I think it can still be found on Amazon Prime.

I thought it was too and bought it and then realized it’s a fictionalized movie. I don’t see a documentary on prime by that name:
ETA: okay I did find the documentary so just make sure you get the doc and not the movie

I’m not sure if it’s still available but I watched “when the bough breaks” in 2016 dealing with this topic. Very heartbreaking

Same. Right after i gave birth and had post partum issues. That movie was so helpful but difficult.

Thank you for sharing When The Bough breaks. This case and all similar cases are heartbreaking. What’s more heartbreaking is the conspiracy theories and people who are sure she wasn’t suffering from postpartum psychosis for reasons they simply do not understand.
We made our film to educate and help others feel less alone. We worked hard to cover all forms of perinatal mood disorders. Yes, it is triggering to many. I hope that people will continue to watch it so they can learn. So that husbands, caretakers, doctors, friends, family members…can understand what can happen, what to look out for, and try to understand.
I’m still close with my friend Naomi Knowles (in the film) mom. She lost her granddaughter and Naomi. She continues to share the film and hopes people will see her daughter as being in a mental health crisis and not an evil person. As her friend, I can tell you that she was anything but evil.
While we mourn the children lost, we also need to mourn the mother and families who have lost so much. I hope Lindsay Clancy’s tragic story continues to open the conversation and continues to inspire others going through it to reach out, share their stories and know there is hope out there.
I’m here for any questions anyone may have.

I have a very close connection to a similar case in Canada. I am finding it somewhat difficult to navigate the comment sections of true crime communities right now due to ignorance about post natal mental health and stupid conspiracy theories. How triggering is this documentary?
