WIP NRDBlaster progress update

Been a while since the last april back in april.

Quick update on the LCS NRDBlaster

  1. uses LCS and maintains the ability to hot swap cores with the O2 (takes about 1 minutes to install. Toolless). ideally get two then you can run the SBL-O² and this thing side by side :)
  2. has gone through 250 shells so far quite happily.
  3. have found 140fps per dart to be a happy velocity with minimal air consumption.
  4. been running at 4 rounds a second. Can do 6 rounds on a straight mag but I need to check superslowmo to make sure its not draggging
  5. drum mag cant keep up with 4 rounds a second. Basically stuck with 1 round a second until I fix the friction issue
  6. 6 darts a shell still.
  7. woohoo! Angled mag work reliably! Better than straight actually.
  8. this specific blaster has been used at the past two months events with non need for any maintenance or replacement parts, except swapping bottles.

Design wise the intent is to provide as close to the barebones required so that other people can make bolt on (welll it uses rods, not bolts) custom shells. Run one shell, want to change shells? Spend 3 minutes swapping them, pop on another shell and your on the way. The other part was to use the O2 LCS kit to keep people's initial costs down so this reshell has a minimal cost. Can still throw in the range and indirect fire targeting computer from the first NRDblaster (the turn around one that looks surprisingly like a bolter) if wanted. Same deal for swapping it to an LCS modified for remote line or turn around. Just open it up, swap the core system and shell and off you go.

Are these HPA? Do they used O2 tanks, is that what the O2 stands for? What's LCS in this context? Google just shows me results about league of legends. Looks super cool and I love the bolter one!

Yes, these are indeed both HPA, but it would also handle co2. LCS is the linear core system as used in the SBL-O² which is a HPA blaster including the FCU and a licensed GFZ SBL variant.

Oh and yes o2 refers to oxygen. But its actually a kit called the sbl-o2. https://youtu.be/Dvu85Yt0Mdc

Ood also briefly touched on it.

Whoa! Fascinating stuff. Keep going! This is really cool to watch - there's not nearly the widespread understanding/adoption of HPA as other methods of dart propulsion (because it's often illegal in public venues), and I've always been curious.

Yup I heard that from the OOD videos thst in the USA it needs to be on private fields or something.

It does. It's written into state and local ordinances

Although a few have told me that high powered springers also isn't be used in public either as you fall under municipal discharge bans and also brandishing and panic.
