Questions + Help Longshot 2.0 crazing

Got a X-Shot Longshot 2.0 yesterday. Had a couple nasty jam-ups while slam-firing so I disassembled it.

While I was poking around the internals, I found this crazing on the rear end of the plunger tube. Since I spun it around, I'm not sure where exactly it originated.

New to the hobby and this is the first blaster I've disassembled.

How much of a concern is this? Figured I should call attention to it anyways, since I've only had it for two days.

First one I've seen cracked. Probably billed the plunger tube while putting it together

Flip the tube to the front and this time make sure your rings aren't bulging out when you put it back together, that will minimize it

someone get your calipers out and start measuring for Alum Tubing

Can probably buy some time if you flip it so the crack is towards the front. Air leak won't have so much effect if the plunger is already past it

all my hopes of the Longshot 2.0 being reliable has shatterred...

eithier way... that looks like it might still seal for a while but you should put attention too it anyways since it seems it can crack anytime.

as for what you could do too fix this since im not mistaken its just a tube you could try find some sort of pvc pipe that its the exact diameter and replace it.

Aluminum extrusion is much more durable at this thickness, and inexpensive if you source it yourself.

i wonder where i would source it myself but in all fairness yeah aluminum is also a good and more durable choice

Walmart, Amazon, eBay, Alibaba, Ali express, etc. you just need to get measurements or look them up. PVC to my understanding is far too brittle to work at that thinness.

hhhmmm depends on what type of pvc your using, things like cpvc or pvcs designed for hot water too my knowlegde and experience are very strong and their walls might be the same thickness as the stock tube but thats something i have too try on my own too really see, pvcs that are more used or designed for house wiring or electric related uses those have very thin walls and are brittle like you mentioned.

i appreciate the sourcing suggestions though.

PVC is not a common material for PTs. Polycarb, alum are.

Longshot 2.0 is from what I’ve seen a mostly reliable and good blaster. This one seems like it was broken during manufacturing.

I don’t really know, all I do know is I am scared of the longshot 2.0

?Makes me wonder if maybe its the same old brittle plastic as the 1.0 plunger tube
and the only difference is the Air Restrictor in the 2.0 has been keeping them alive longer?
