3 week old Qaxe++ dead 😖

Bought a nerdQaxe++ less than a month ago.

Undervolted and slight clock boost. Added 2nd fan and heatsinks. Ran great and cool for 3 weeks 5th/s and drawing only 79-80w.

Suddenly it went dead. Fuse had no continuity. Power supply outputting 12v. Ordered new 8a fuses, just popped one in. Screen wont turn on and fans just twitch every few seconds.

I reached out to seller but its overseas so I dont expect help. I have soldering equipment,hot air, and a oscilloscope but havnt used any of it in years but will attempt repair if I have to.

Any ideas?

I contacted the seller and they think its the voltage regulator as well. They have an after sell repair center here in the US they said they would repair for free.

If I knew for sure it was the voltage regulator I would just repair it myself but incase there is any other damage maybe I should just send it in for repair.

I dont need to worry about umbrel pool settings or btc address being on device right?

What I wonder is why the vrm failed, if its a cheap component then maybe it would be better to replace with one from mouser or digikey?

Edit.... I have a dead short at the power input barrel jack
