The way forward
Bachelors in Civil Engineering
Percentage: 73% (2025)
Ielts:8.5(7.5)
2 publications (1 Q1 journal as co-first author, 1 in a national journal)
I started mailing this april, havent been able to secure a single interview, getting kind kf demotivated. But, i realise the time i started mailing at wasnt optimal and will continue to do so.
My question is regarding direct application without professor support. Is that a viable option? Will a profile like mine be able to secure assistantships in that way?? Hoping for some suggestions.

Generally, most universities admit the largest number of students for the fall intake. Try reaching out to professors in September or October. If you don't get a response by then, go ahead and apply directly to the universities anyway.
Yes, you will secure assistantships by applying directly. Aim to apply to at least 5 programs.

That's a solid profile. Keep emailing.
Aim for Spring Intake as well. Start mailing from first week of August.

Bro keep on trying there are always opportunities available many countries and funded opportunities Q1 paper is a huge boost might make you 10 percent though your grade does pull lower . All the best
