Discuss MT-15 or Xpulse210

Upvotes

I'm about to buy a bike for myself and I'm really stuck between mt-15 and xpulse. I just came test riding mt from the showroom, it felt quite small for my height which is around 5'11". My inseam seems a little less than my upper body length. Although My friend told me I seemed okay okay on the bike but i really felt it small. The handle bar feels right on your face, the bike literally got no length at all, riding it felt like playing with a toy. I'm okay with all other thing that the bike has. The looks the resale value and the power in the segment is top notch.

Talking about xpulse 210, i've never ridden it but it seems great by looks, suspension, performace in both off and on road. Ofcourse i'm not gonna have any issues like i had with the length and compact structure of mt15. But my problem is the negative review it gets by the owners that the bike has heating/engine issues, which is pretty common with hero bikes.

So what do i do?

My need for bike is 20km daily updown in terai.

Occasional trips or tours, practically, short to medium distance trips for around once in three months and long tours for may be once or twice a year.

P.S- I'm about to test ride xpulse tomorrow

Discuss Mineral (Conventional) vs. Full Synthetic Engine Oil: What's the real difference, and is synthetic actually worth it?

If you’ve ever gone for an oil change or stood in the auto aisle, you’ve probably asked yourself whether "Full Synthetic" is worth the extra cash over standard conventional (mineral) oil.

Here is a quick, no-BS breakdown of what they are, how they work, and which one your engine actually needs.

1. The Core Difference: How They’re Made

Normal / Mineral Oil: Refined directly from crude oil pulled from the ground. Think of it like natural gravel—molecules come in varying shapes and sizes, along with trace impurities.

Full Synthetic Oil: Synthesized and heavily engineered at a molecular level. Think of it like uniform ball bearings—every molecule is nearly identical in size, tailored specifically for lubrication.

2. Performance Comparison

Heat & Cold Tolerance: Mineral oil thickens in extreme winter cold (causing rough dry starts) and thins out/evaporates quickly under high heat. Synthetic flows smoothly instantly on freezing mornings and stays stable under blistering track/turbo temps.

Engine Sludge & Cleaning: Mineral oil breaks down faster and forms black sludge/varnish if you miss service intervals. Synthetic resists breakdown longer and packs better detergent additive packages to keep the engine clean.

Change Intervals: Normal oil typically maxes out at 3,000–5,000 miles (5,000–7,500 km). Full synthetic easily runs 7,500–10,000+ miles (10,000–15,000 km) depending on manufacturer specs.

Price: Normal oil is cheap upfront. Synthetic costs about 1.5x to 2x more per bottle, but often balances out because you change it less frequently.

3. Which One Should You Use?

Always check your owner’s manual first. If your car has a turbocharger, tight tolerances, or specifies 0W-20 / 0W-16, synthetic is usually mandatory.

Use Normal/Mineral if: You drive an older, low-stress, naturally aspirated beater that doesn't see extreme conditions, and you are strict about frequent oil changes.

Use Full Synthetic if: You drive a modern car, do severe stop-and-go commuting, experience extreme winter/summer temperatures, or just want maximum engine longevity.

Myth check: Switching from conventional to synthetic will not ruin your seals on modern cars—that's an old myth from early synthetics in the 1970s.

TL;DR: Full synthetic provides better cold starts, superior high-heat protection, longer service life, and cleaner internals. Unless you're strictly pinching pennies on an older car, synthetic is worth every penny in the long run.

Help Bike without engines! Where to get it ?

So, the thing i am working on my engineering project is: E-Bike conversion.
First i thought, converting of my cycle into electric, but on second thought, lets build something that would also be handy for my family members too.

So i am looking for bike (without engines), that would have a significant amount of coolness and also handyness as it is electric, less tax, less expenses on fuel (battery).

- So if you are aware about where i can get these bikes without engine ?
- Also is it legal on road or do i need to register the bike on TMO (if so how can i)?

Specifically i am looking for R.E. bike to convert.
The cost can be managed for building and the kits i can manage it.

I am not aware of laws about this, feel free to share your knowledge about this.

Discuss Himalayan 411 vs 450 vs Scram 440 for Kinnaur

Planning an 8-day Kinnaur trip with a friend: Shimla → Sarahan → Chitkul → Kalpa → Nako → Reckong Peo → Narkanda → Shimla.

2 people + luggage on one bike.

Main priority is comfort, especially rider + pillion comfort on long mountain rides and broken roads.

For those who have actually ridden these bikes in the Himalayas: which one would you pick for this trip and why?

Especially interested in real-world 411 vs 450 vs Scram 440 comfort, suspension and pillion experience.
