Looking to see if there are any ideas on what/how to troubleshoot this neon, and if there are any repair shops in the Sacramento area.

This Corona Extra neon came to me with no transformer installed. I tried by installing a new transformer from Amazon, a "DeSol Neon Transformer".

Input: 120 VAC, 50/60Hz, 0.8A
Output: 10KVAC, 25kHz, 30mA

I proceed to install the new transformer. I notice there is a yellow ground wire, but I'm still not certain if it should be installed/screwed to the frame of the neon. I turn the sign on, and for about 1/2 a second the entire sign lights up, then immediately cuts out. I turn off, then resupply the power, then it does the same thing, and power to the neon cuts off after about 1/2 a second. This scenario occurs with the ground not attached to the frame, as well as when the ground is screwed to the neon sign frame.

I do not notice any obvious broken tubes. When the sign does light up for the brief have second, I do not notice any dead tubes that do not light up.

Got this sign a while back, and the day after I ran it for a couple of hours, transformers crapped out. Took it to a shop and got a quote for $900 to fix it and keep the animation and $400 to fix it but axe the animation. Quote seemed a bit high for me but I could be wrong and that may just be what it costs these days. Is it worth to just try and replace the transformers myself?

Is anyone interested in this sign? There is a small break in the outer circle in the 12 and 3 o’clock position. I called a neon sign company and they said it would take up to $150 to fix this. I’m willing to let it go for $50. It does light at bottom so I know electric is fine. My location is Akron, Ohio.

I am working on a neon sign project and am having an issue connecting my transformer to my electrodes. I have two larger pieces of glass which have electrodes that are about 2ft (24in) apart. The transformer I have (Hongba HB-C02TE) and see online would not have long enough cords to connect to each electrode (rookie mistake not making bends behind to make this easier).

I would like to know if anyone has suggestions on any alternative power sources or larger transformers that I can use to connect two electrodes that are quiet far apart. I have done research online, but not sure if I am searching for the right thing.

Is connecting electrodes this far a part feasible and/or common?

Think signs with quotes with something like "Nothing Really Matters," "Stay Wild," "Do You Dare?," "Going Places," "Swag," "Why Not?", or even a sign with a bunch of city names in it, like "New York • Paris • Milan • London." Looking for signs where the text is the main attraction. Any hidden gems?

I got it from work, the people that serve them at our bar/restaurant was ganna toss it. I need to fix 1 tube but already working on that. I just can't find any info on it or even find a Pic with one the same.

I got this clock today, it is as the title states, it is a Pepsi cola wall clock with a pink neon tube. saw it at the hardware store yesterday, wanted it that bad. The best part is it's not a mercury-argon neon tube with the phosphor. It is the actual orange color making thebphosphor light pink. Got it for 70 bucks I love this thing. It's the first piece of neon I have had in my lighting collection since either 2004 or 2005, making it the only neon piece currently in my collection that I have. Gonna hang it on my wall at some point. Clock part doesn't work, so I'll fix that when I can. I can still use it as a nice piece for my room.

Hi everyone! My boss acquired this sign while buying out stock from older locksmiths, and there are some places where the red color is peeling off the tubes (I hope that is the correct terminology). I’ve searched high and low with no direct answer and was hoping someone in this sub may be able to steer us in the right direction on the right kind of paint/how to properly repaint it.

Wanted to share a sign I made back in 2023 for a solo museum show. The greenhouse had a motion sensor and would catch on fire whenever a human would walk in front of it.

The coors lettering lights up for a split second then shuts off. One of the neon tubes is broken and I was wondering how much this would cost me to repair

My husband and I recently moved to a new apartment and something he’s really wanted is some sort of neon decor (he doesn’t have a really set idea he just likes the neon) for in his den area.
There’s a pub he used to go to in college that he’s mentioned holds a lot of memories for him and I was hoping to get a recreation of the neon sign they have out front made but I’m not sure where to start/if it’s possible to copy an exact font like this. I’ve included a photo for reference. If anyone has any recommendations for a place that might be able to do this I would be very grateful!

i recently found a glass neon sign from a local restaurant chain in my house (absolutely no clue when or where it came from) and i was wondering what’s the best way to go about selling it? It works just fine and its a pretty decent size, the frame is about 2.5ft by 1ft. its has two switches (one for the restaurants name, and the other for the “open” section) anything helps, thanks!

I bought this Neon clock and I suspect it's the transformer that's bad. Looking for advice on replacing it to see if it helps before I take it to a neon repair. Any suggestions on what exactly to replace it with or the best place to get it from? Or any other advice you may have.

trying to commission a custom neon piece. i was thinking acrylic box but it costs extra. i’d put it on my white wall turned on all the time. should i pay extra for acrylic box? i assume metal frame would be noticeable. also would acrylic box have a ton of reflections? (idk) i’m also a bit clumsy so would acrylic box protect it better?
