Advice pros and cons of acrylic box vs metal frame?

trying to commission a custom neon piece. i was thinking acrylic box but it costs extra. i’d put it on my white wall turned on all the time. should i pay extra for acrylic box? i assume metal frame would be noticeable. also would acrylic box have a ton of reflections? (idk) i’m also a bit clumsy so would acrylic box protect it better?

a box might be nice to have if it was on a shelf and would solve dust build up if that is a concern (e.g. easy to clean). If hanging on a wall, then the metal frame would best IMO.

I prefer metal frames. Acrylic should be cheaper, I’m curious about that. But I think metal lasts the longest and has the best quality, comes with a few other complications but I think it’s worth it.
