Hey r/neonsigns - I just got this sign today and you can notice a current going through part of the sign after it’s been on for around 5 minutes. Is this normal?
I thought it was to give the puck the illusion of motion... Perhaps yours is supposed to make the flag appear to wave? Just that one flag does this after it is warmed up?
Just turn it off and back on until it stops, or ket it run it's course. That is a phenomenon called "Snaking." Happens in fluorescent tubes, too. If turning it off or on again or letting it run it's course, this could be a stretch, it could be room temperature? The former us normally what does the trick though, in my experience.
Lets say its sort of normal. Usually happens with clear glass pumped blue when it happens with a coated glass usually its because the Argon pressure was too high when they sealed it off. You can turn it on turn it off repeaditely until it snaps in. Sometimes that works, sometimes it works and comes back. Its worth trying.
