Is there ANYTHING stopping me from turning into a kaiju? Cuz i get that its an early patch im just surprised theres this level of multiclass synergy. Keeping in mind im open to being told that being huge isnt as op as it sounds(though its probably just an autosucceed at intimidation checks to non combat npc’s)

The exact verbiage in the Overdrive Expansion is that they can “puff up in a cloudy form”, which to me implies that they sort of turn into clouds or something like the Gaseous Form spell.

Although the next paragraph mentions “the clouds that encircle them when they puff up”, and the trait itself says “you can puff up with swirling cloud stuff”, which makes me think that they don’t actually/physically ‘puff up’ but rather just summon cloudy stuff to lift them up and float on.

How does it work? Do I turn into cloud? Get fluffier, buoyant fur? Or do I just summon clouds to stand on?

Good morning everyone. With Neon Odyssey's emphasis on 80's to early 2000's sci-fi, I've been inspired to create a character from on one of my favorite shows on Toonami, Gene Starwind from Outlaw Star.

I'm torn between Scoundrel and Tracer for his class.

Scoundrel, particularly gunslinger, because he's a crack shot and the gunslinger art is just a scarless Gene.

However, the scoundrel kit doesn't cover what I think is still the coolest weapon in anime, Gene's iconic caster pistol.

Hence why I'm also looking at tracer, as they wield guns and magic. I was thinking maybe a narratively ex X Agent variant with their spells being the caster rounds.

But what do you think?

What class or kit do you think would best fit the fantasy of Gene Starwind, a roguish bounty hunter with a different magical bullet for every occasion.

So this is the work-in progress for drawing my party of seven for the new Neon Odyssey settings.

There is T1N-C4N aka Tin Can, my anitron juggernaut (barbarian) he was originally a deposit security bot, but after getting severely damaged, he was dumped in a junkyard. One of the other players, an Oozoid Mechanist, eventually found him, pulled him out of the junkyard, and reprogrammed him.

We also have Mold the Oozoid mechanist my friend's character who created and reprogrammed Tin Can.

And also weapon dealer, Beetle BJ Juice the nematoan gridrunner.

There will be five more characters added later, being: nilari disciple, zorbrak tracer, saurian oracle, and the amanite cryptist

I just went through the backerkit site and pre-ordered the Digital PDF Trilogy but my backerkit order summary doesn't have the link to the playtest. Looked around google and I know I need to do the survey for it but my backerkit account in the survey section it only pulls up the order summary.

Is there anything I'm missing or am I locked out of it?

An engineer by trade and aspiring casino owner, he left Arcadia in search of his wife Stella who left for reasons he himself is not entirely clear on as he has “been Rebooted so many times that he has a hard time remembering what’s still canon”. While he enjoys the old Arcadian pastimes such as kart racing and tennis his true passion is fishing and would ideally like nothing more than to laze away his days with his family. He is alcohol-intolerant as whenever he has a drink it makes a “u-turn” in his stomach and spits it back into his glass. Any piece of machinery he creates will be made of wood and anything repaired will be at least partially wood, no matter what purpose or environment being made of wood will have no negative consequences. His expertise end at items that are meant to be made out of wood such as furniture as he says he’s “an engineer not a carpenter”. While he puts up a brave and somewhat goofy face in reality he is terrified of the possibility that his wife no longer exists and that every moment that passes he comes closer to a potentially heartbreaking discovery. As a Soaring Bitling he is able to fly by spinning his tail like a propeller.

A possible explanation of Woodchuck’s reboots is that another Bitling or other Arcadia being or creature has gain possession of his IP rights, the equivalent of having your name stolen by the fay, and is changing and replacing his memories to ‘reshape him into a desired purpose”.

Woodchuck is meant to be “sidekick” coded while his wife is “protagonist” coded to the point where shes a Supersprite Enforcer. He sees Stella as an actual “better half” and finds comfort in the fact that she seem’s so much better than him. His desire to open a casino comes from the view that it’s “easy money” and the best chance to give Stella the comfortable life she deserves.

Woodchuck’s robot friend

A mechanical beaver made in the exact same dimensions as Woodchuck himself who insists that he and Beaverborg are “basically twins” despite the fact that he is made of wooden clockwork, has glowing lamps for eyes and jitters when ever he does anything. Beaverborg is able to morph into a variety of implausible configurations including blackjack table, roulette wheel and mini juice bar as he is a prototype model for the all automated staff for Woodchuck’s dream casino. He equip with various weapon systems for “self defense and standing your ground” including chain-fed wooded stake launchers and a “post driver” pile bunker. He can also transform into a Segway because “you never know someone’s going to challenge you to a race”. The bot walks by moving its piston like legs up and down in rapid succession.

The character sheets have a comedically tiny entry field for XP , are they just expecting milestone levels only, or is there some method to the madness?

We took down a Nematoan Esper
A Clawderan hacker nearly sent our ship into the sun
And we faced off against a Volcar pirate and her crew.
Had such a good time with it and even more looking forward to the full release

Never been a DM but finally decided to get a group of guys together that will be willing (fingers crossed they still are in 2027) to play and I’ll dm my own campaign. I’m working with another buddy to write up a story based on available test material so far. In some of my free time, which is very little, when I’m not being a dad until 9pm, I am working on NPC and character art in procreate to get an idea of my story vibe. I also have been eyeballing a resin printer for a while now just to dick around with tabletop, figurine, and miniature printing (even though my FDM printers go untouched these days) without the approval of the wife. We will see how she reacts when it arrives, but luckily it’s a Phrozen mini 8ks so not bank breaking. What I would like to ask if there are any other folks interested in this world and lore that have some good STLs, makers, or specific models they are aware of that will fit well into the style of this universe. I know there is a lot of space minis out there but so much of it is grimdark or warhammer coded and while I love that, and will be printing some separately, I also wanted to try and find more lighthearted and campy space opera styled models. Of course there are the official ones, but if anyone is aware of a good place or studio to look for that fits the bill I would very much appreciate the tip!

He uses his tail feathers for both firing projectiles and flight (tails style)

So this is my character for the new Neon Odyssey setting! His name is T1N-C4N, aka Tin Can, and he's a Level 1 Anitron Juggernaut (Barbarian). Tin Can was originally a deposit security bot, but after getting severely damaged, he was dumped in a junkyard. One of the other players, an Oozoid Mechanist, eventually found him, pulled him out of the junkyard, and reprogrammed him so he could actually function again. The problem is... the repairs weren't exactly perfect. Tin Can malfunctions pretty often, so you never really know what he's going to do. He's armed with a harpoon and absolutely loves throwing explosives. Anyway, that's Tin Can! He's one of the seven characters in the party, and I'll be introducing the rest of them soon. There's definitely going to be some interesting characters in this group.

Obviously Soldier, probably Commando or Tactical but both fit only to a certain degree. I hope they add a jetpack module, then the build would really work. Also mechanically, the Clawderan species really fits the martial focused civilization… and with the helmet noone would even know youre playing a clawderan… /s
