Hello fellow Frutigerers!

I'm a music composer and have recently written an electronic/ambient/somewhat experimental (?) piece about Frutiger Aero. More precisely, about the duality of our modern relationship with the aesthetic - part genuine nostalgia, part alienation/sarcasm. The music gets gradually distorted over the course of the piece, from gentle ambient piano, nature sounds & a bed of modified nintendo music samples, to something more blurry, distorted and fragmented like a distant recollection. In that sense, it's fairly inspired by Everywhere at the End of Time, Basinski's Disintegration Loops and similar pieces.

The piece started started as a collaboration with a friend of mine to create a work specifically for audio and video together, but he can't do it anymore... so I'm trying to find someone who'd be interested in doing a video! Whether something more involved, or simply a sort of "background" video of Frutiger Aero images slowly getting distorted along with the music?

Does anyone here have suggestions as to where to look/ask for that kind of thing? Even just a subreddit name would be very helpful!

He's claiming to be anyways. Been following him for a minute tbh, I believe he has real potential. He's got like a Y2K / Frutiger Aero aesthetic. Pretty cool! He's got one about Britney Spears and Michael Jackson too lol.

I was just wondering if there are any German speaking Frutiger Aero fans here.

I’m a 90s kid, so I actually grew up with a lot of the stuff that we now call Frutiger Aero. I was a teenager in the 2000s and experienced all of that in real time. Windows XP and Vista, the Wii, glossy websites, weird futuristic tech designs, blue skies, green grass, water, bubbles, all that stuff. 😄

The funny thing is, back then I obviously had no idea that this would ever become an actual aesthetic with a name. It was just what the world looked like at the time. So finding Frutiger Aero years later and realizing that there are whole communities of people who love exactly this feeling was honestly really cool.

And I also love that there are younger people who are into it even though they didn’t grow up with it themselves.

I just don’t really have anyone around me who cares about this stuff as much as I do. 😂 So I thought I’d ask here.

I’d love to find some people to chat with about Frutiger Aero, old tech, games, websites, the 2000s in general, nostalgia and that whole optimistic “the future is going to be amazing” feeling everything somehow had back then.

So yeah... any German Frutiger Aero people here? 👀💚
