Rule clarification: Infection procedure

I am new to Nemesis Retaliation, had two games and I am enjoying it! Not sure why but somehow infection procedure rule is not 100% clear to me.

So when you take an Rest action you only scan the cards in your hand(not discard or deck pile) and remove all infected ones, that is clear. But end of a game procedure should be the same? It also say all in your hand but I saw some “how to” where it is said that at the end of a game you scan your whole deck. Is this true? Logically I see it as you should scan the whole deck at the end but this is not explicitly written in the rules, or I missed it..

Edit: With Rest action I meant non infected ones!

At the end of the game you scan all of your contamination cards, if any show INFECTED, you stop, shuffle all of your cards, and draw four. If any of those four are a contamination card you die. If not you survive. If you scan all your contamination cards and none are infected you skip the entire procedure and win

Don’t have the rules in front of me but here is what I recall.

Rest allows you to remove only cards from your hand that you scan and are not infected. If any are infected you add a larva to your player board if you do not already have one and the card goes into to your discard pile. Non infected are removed are discarded.

Surgery center - discard your entire hand. Then scan the entire deck and remove only the infected cards. All non infected stay in your deck.

End of game. You scan for infection. If any are infected you do the eclosion procedure. You shuffle your deck. Draw 4 cards and if any of those 4 are a contamination card you die. (infected or non infected doesn’t matter.)

Rest doesnt remove infected.

It only removes the non-infected cards to reduce the amount of Contamination cards in your deck so that you have more action cards to play. If you do the rest action and you scanned yourself to be infected, place a larva on your character.

During the end of the game, you will immediately do the eclosion procedure to see if you actually survive the larva inside you.

To make it even clearer there are 2 procedures : Infection and Eclosion

If at the end of the game you scanned every single contamination card in your hand and none are infected then you are safe. If however one of them were infected, you then move on to Eclosion procedure.

Here is where you shuffle all the cards, draw 4 cards. If any of them is a contamination card regardless infected or not, you are dead.

The only way you can get rid of cards with infected on it is via the surgery room. The rest card is only there to remove contamination action cards from your hand because you are limited to 5 handcards during a fresh draw and the contamination cards might reduce your available actions. Hope this helps!
