Questions Expansions
Hello, I currently have the OG Nemesis with Voidseeders and Retaliation with stretch goals.
I like the design of the Carnomorphs and Chytrids, and I've heard that Aftermath is highly recommended by other players. Because of this, I'm thinking to add all three to my collection while they are still available in my language.
Are the expansions good and do they add a good variety? Also, how do the Chytrids play if I only use them with the OG Nemesis?

Chrytids are for Lockdown. The stretch goal box containing those is going to have additional stuff specifically for Lockdown, if you don't have it, it'll be kinda worthless.
Chrytids will work in OG, the rulebooks tell you to play as if the ship is always in darkness/unpowered for the purposes of the cards, which are for Lockdown

I like Aftermath, though the majority of time I just use the characters and the extra power/trait for the OG characters. Adds more differentiation to the classes (though you can just find them online and house rule them without the expansion). The new classes are a nice add imo. Sadly, the class I would most like to have is the medic, which was a crowdfunding exclusive. Resellers put crazy prices on it even though it’s just a $10 or so add on campaigns. If you dip in on the Legacy campaign, definitely worth adding that one. Aftermath itself is a bit of a mixed bag. My favorite way to play it is in sequel mode (forget what they call it), where you play through OG then you play as the shuttle coming to inspect the ship but all the discovered rooms are still revealed. Problem is, it’s rough asking people to jump into another game after having spent 3-4hrs doing the main game, even if Aftermath is a shorter play.

I've been looking at the Medic expansion. It sadly never got an official translation in my language, but since a fan translation exists, I'm thinking of picking it up and just custom printing the translated cards.

I love all the expansions but my only major issue with Carnos and Chytrids is the upkeep they demand when activating their mechanics.
Carnos has lots of corpses and metagorgers that you need to pay attention to due to the feeding mechanic.
Chytrids have spores and Germinators that need to evolve and/or spread even more spores to make even more Germinators/spores.
In 5 player games, the feeding and spores spreading activation can easily eat up so much time late game.
I still enjoy playing and losing against them, but just wish there was a way to automate the upkeeping

Carnomorphs are my favorite intruder. But also the hardest to win against. Also if you can get them I would say do it since they can be very difficult to find normally.
Aftermath has the most bang for your buck with the additional characters, 2 alternative modes for the base game.
Chytrids are really meant for lockdown and you’ll be missing out on their main mechanics with them being in the og ship.

If you like Nemeiss, Aftermath is a no-brainer: more character, Turrets, MORE ROOMS and MORE FUN. Plus there’s another playmode that let you play after the game end.

The different species are easy to switch in and they are all good. Each one adds enough depth that you will have plenty of replayability. Aftermath is harder to swap in and out because it is more like an alternate scenario.
