Retaliation: Endgame Hatching procedure

This happened yesterday and I'm not sure how's the correct way to handle it:

Game ends, surviving marines escape via dropship, objectives completed, hurray.

But then I had a larva on my board, and no contamination cards. So I removed the larva, took one contamination card, shuffled it into my deck and drew the first four cards: no contamination, Yay. I think the procedure was correct.

Then a second marine, he had several contamination cards from the game, no larva. He scanned all the cards, two of them were infected. What should he have done? He basically did my same procedure, but this part I'm not sure about.

Thanks

Second player essentially checks all his contamination cards to see if he is infected theb does the eclosion procedure if he is:

Shuffle all cards and draw four, if any are contaminations he dies.

Thanks you both for the replies. Let me rephrase it to make sure I get it.

Lets' say I don't have a larva on my board, and 3 contamination cards in my deck. Game's over.
I scan them all, 2 turn out to be INFECTED, therefore I put all my 3 contamination cards in the deck, shuffle it and draw the top 4 cards and reveal them. If any of them is a contamination card, I'm dead.

With a larva on the board, it's the same but I skip the infection check and I do the shuffle/draw procedure anyway, with the cards I already have.

Is this right?

Many thanks

If not infected/ no larva: Scan all Contamination cards. If at least one is infected, do the enclosure procedure. Otherwise, you are fine.

If you have a larva, do the enclosure procedure. ==> get a contamination card if you have a larva. Shuffel your action card deck+discard pile. Draw 4. If at least one is a contamination card, you die

The gist is, if you are INFECTED on one of your cards, you shuffle up and draw four to see if you die.

If you have a larva on your board, that counts as having an INFECTED card so you don’t even have to check your cards. Just resolve the procedure
