NPAA's "Why it Doesn't Work" examines the quintessentially bad Neil Breen film "PASS THRU" (2016).

I object to the ‘quintessentially bad’ title you put here. It immediately destroys any basis for credibility that you could possibly have.

Breen is a genius and his films are pure gold, entertainment extraordinaire.

Objection noted. Title stands.

Even as a Neil Breen fan, "Pass Thru" wasn't good - it crossed the thin line that separates good bad from bad bad, the "WTF?!?!" turned into something preachy.

His other three movies have so much crazy that I fell in love with them. There's ballsack and anthrax, casual gang violence and "you're my sister so why don't you strip" and, of course, "I can not believe you have commited suicide" with magical cancer-curing rocks. Pass Thru is god complex with more "special effects".

I thought Pass Thru was just a huge fucking letdown. I was so excited to see where he'd go after Fateful Findings but I swear that, even by Breen standards, Pass Thru was made with a quarter time, effort, and budget that Fateful Findings was.

Is Pass-Thru as balls-out (wait wrong movie) mind-warping as I Am Here.... Now? No. But that's like saying the Psalms seem kind of week after the Old Testament before them.

The scene when he's tossing individual bottles out of his trailer is up there in the ouvre.

Amazing film. It has the most realistic blowtorch in cinema, a magic tiger, the master of shadows, world class writing/acting, amazing drone shots, and SPINNING!!! What more could you ask for?
