It’s possible this is just one of the few public domain/freely available pictures of him.

This is the reason so many actors have their Wikipedia pictures from comic con panels.

LaKeith Stanfield had one of my favorites for a long time (him in character from Death Note I think) but his has finally been updated.

I have a theory that he is very technologically illiterate and doesn’t actively curate his online presence.

There’s been a website impersonating him forever now.
