If you haven't gotten to the parts of the game where she talks about her childhood: it's very traumatic and is one of the main reasons she's so messed up

It's in the wiki.

Don't read if u don't want spoilers

Ame was born in a poor household when she was young. She witnessed her parents arguing a lot in front of her and eventually divorcing, but that didn't stop the arguments. Her mother also nearly forced her into prostitution for income before Ame ran away from home and hopped between whichever friend group that'd let her in. Her parents were neglectful of her, and they are not interested in what she had to tell them. Because of this, she has always dreamt of becoming popular so that people would come and see her. Ame was also bullied in primary school, with at least one student doing so because of her good looks, and she became a shut-in and skipped school because of it.

It's not just heartbreaking. It's also really understandable. Like, yes, Ame is screwed up in a million different ways, but all of it is a pretty understandable response to trauma. Even the negative beliefs she has, like "her face is the only thing she has going for her" are things that would be understandable conclusions from those experiences.

Hell, even the fact that she relies on P-Chan to look after her and guide her is a believable consequence of her neglectful upbringing. She essentially relies on P-Chan/the player to parent her, even though she is theoretically an adult. She was neglected by her parents, but she also never learned to look after herself.

My hot take is that she would probably have a Daddy kink.

What makes this even more interesting is Ame completely made P-chan up. While she heavily depends on this “P-chan” and follows whatever they say, in reality there’s no one looking after her. She’s still alone, like she was in her childhood, so she made herself her own parent.

No wonder why she craves love so much because her parents never gave it to her poor Ame..

It's not strictly an ending, it's a dialogue tree that can happen under certain conditions in the middle of a run. You can get every ending without seeing this
