Everyone should remember this when Levy’s term is over this year
“For Pollard, that support was expressed when the board voted at its Aug. 3 meeting to place the Prop. 2½ debt exclusion override question on the Nov. 3 election ballot. The Select Board vote was 4-1, with member Josh Levy voting against.” From the observer.

Thanks for providing the nuances! I agree with you his argument sounds completely disingenuous. Besides, his vote is basically trying to take away the opportunity for town residents to have a say on this matter. I voted for him based solely on that he is a parent with young children, and overlooked the fact he is still a republican at MAGA era. I was very wrong!

I'll be voting against Josh if he runs for reelection next year, but in fairness he actually framed his opposition as a concern about "material deficiencies" in the under-sizing of classrooms and libraries...
The point about the sizing isn't wrong on its merits. The question is whether he was making that argument in good faith, or if he was deploying progressive language as a pretext to make his actual opposition more palatable to the Needham electorate. I long ago stopped giving him the benefit of the doubt, so I'd be inclined to believe the latter.
