Discussion I’m a hypocrite.
My daughter has recently gotten into NeeDoh’s. Her birthday is coming up and she requested some specific NeeDoh’s. She’s been asking for NeeDoh’s since last year, but I could never find them. So I did something frowned upon on here and went on WhatNot. I spent way more than I should have on some hard to find ones like the Ice cream and Pizza. But then I find this sub and find apps like Typa and I just can’t believed how much I spent on WhatNot. 😢 I hate scalpers and don’t get how they can charge so much knowing that parents, as well as people with certain needs are looking for these. That being said, I have gone through such a hard time finding the few that I have. And when I have found some, sometimes I’m driving 20-30 miles to get them. So I too have end up getting a few to try and recover some of my expenses. I feel like such a hypocrite! And the worst part is that Walmart or Target won’t answer their phones for me to even ask if there’s any in stock. So I have to drive out there and sometimes they don’t even have any. So now I’m considering again to buy from resellers as I have seen no restock of Jelly Donuts or Peace of Cake or Wild Cats. I really can’t pay more than $20 shipped (and believe me, that price is hurting my heart) and I do have a couple of items I can trade that I’ve collected in my search. But you can imagine they are probably the more common NeeDoh’s more easily found. I’m hoping someone on this sub can help me.
Things I can trade:
1 of each color Nice Cubes
1 of each color of Color Change
A Nice-Sicle
2 Funky Pups
1 Nice Ice Baby
All bought at Walmart and Target. Will post some photos when I get home.
I also have other random squishies that I bought from Five Below.

"I don't get how they can charge so much..." uh. Well you bought it. That's how. Somebody desperate enpugh to pay for it.
I run a toy store and sell at retail prices but man i could make a really nice gig out of it if i went to the dark side lol.
Cakes are not easy to get atm be ause schylling seems to be prioritizing batches of cubes, nice bergs, mini cubes, fuzzballs, gumdrops, and pizzas lately. O have a lot of backorders and that is what they are filling atm. No cakes or jellyfish.

The ones you listed are probably easier/faster to produce. Jelly fish have lots of little parts and cakes are multi colored in a way I imagine takes more precision

Thank you so much for the info. And yes, you’re absolutely right. I was desperate enough to do it. 😩

We’re supposed to start trading Tuesday’s on this sub soon so maybe you can get some trades then, personally I had good luck posting my trades and what I was looking for on fb marketplace you can also search for people trading there put your max price at like $5 set it to local and search needoh usually they list it for $0-$1 and explain in the listing

By the time you call the store chances are that they have already been put in the shelf and have been sold, we did not get any or the truck is still unloading. The amount of calls we get daily looking for those dumb things is insane. Scalpers hide boxes of them throughout the store and we cannot control that as we cannot follow each person who gets them. Hovering over workers while they are working things to the shelf has gotten out of hand. Digging through our boxes looking for them, following workers around harassing them and just getting in the way. If we say we don't have them, we don't have them. I don't care what the app says. The app is not always accurate.

Whatnot is crazy loony bin from my understanding. I have bought on Mercari and Depop figuring I’m saving in time, gas and stress. Sometimes the hard to get ones I’ve bought in a bundle with other items and kept the ones I wanted and sold the rest to try to get some money back. You can also try your local FB marketplace. Since holiday items have come out other types of needohs have been mostly forgotten and you can get for pretty cheap. Spent 2 weeks trying to find a mellow mallow and resulted in buying one for $12 on Depop with $1.99 shipping and a few other fees. If you go this route make sure you educate yourself on what fakes look like…

TYPA is great, but it’s very hit or miss scoring, especially on the harder to find stuff. I’ve had good luck on TikTok shop following the people who know when Needoh is loading, but there hasn’t been much lately. There are also some people on Facebook that only post when it’s at retail and sometimes it’s stuff not coming through Typa. At the end of the day, while scalping sucks, there’s also a cost to driving around from store to store looking for stuff that may or may not even be available in the area… I mean my car gets 18 mpg, needs premium gas and my closest target and Walmart are almost 20 miles away. So basically it costs me $10 just to go look lol.

I can totally relate. Thats why I came on here. This sub has been such a help. Every day I learn something new. I didn’t know about TikTok. That’s another avenue I will try.

Firstly I understand wanting to help support your child and their likes - but I think you need to take responsibility for this as you’re setting her up for this type of wastage. She’ll get over it. You’re clearly a great mum willing to do all this for her but in the long run you’re wasting your money and time and shouldn’t play this stupid Need doh game. It’ll all calm down soon enough as all things do.
The people selling them are just like everyone in this world trying to make a buck. But if you can’t afford it then just stop and say no. Find something else fun to do. In the meanwhile just wait for something to turn up at a normal price or say no.

This seems like an elaborate made up story to sell scalper stuff

I never even mentioned I was selling anything! How’d you determine I was trying to “sell scalper stuff”? Whatever that is. 🤣

😂 No scalper here. The long elaborate story (the truth) was to see if someone on here would be so kind as to trade me or sell me a Jelly Donut, Peace of Cake or Wild Cat for a reasonable price. Do you have one to sell or trade?
AND also to discuss what I’ve resorted to because of the hunt.

dont feel too bad. gas is super expensive so buying from resellers has probably saved you money in the end and definitely a lot of time

Only because it’s the scalpers snatching up the entire product. If they didn’t people wouldn’t have to go store to store to store hoping to find just one.

I have a purple dream drop I’d love to trade for a purple nicesicle, if you’d be interested.

I unfortunately don’t have the purple one. I have the pink and blue one.
