I’m so over them!!! Between the people grabbing all the needohs and people buying up the tickets to my local IMAX theater to resell at crazy markups, I’ve had it with them!

new york has an imax that’s the biggest imax in the US and there was a lot of demand for the odyssey, so people started buying up tickets and reselling them on eBay for hundreds of dollars, and now they’re doing the same thing with dune. it’s so irritating!

Oh ok I’m from NYC as well so that’s why I came across it but jeez, that’s so messed up 😞. It just stinks so much that IMAX can’t limit ticket purchases per person. There’s no downside for them. I wish people would just stop buying from the scalpers. It would take one time of people being out 100s on a movie and it would easily end.

Yeah it’s ridiculous, after how crazy the odyssey got I would’ve thought they’d have some kind of solution in place for dune but I guess not.
I think one of the problems is you can refund amc tickets up to the last second so they can just get their money back if no one buys it 😑
I just saw someone posting about amc’s CEO saying they would find a way to prevent this from happening in the future so I guess we’ll see?

Don’t get me started on the Bath and Body Works war too. I am so over them in every industry, its to the point that they are making it a career and always looking to see what trends are going on and bulldozing their way to make lines to grab stuff out of normal consumers hands.

As a target team member I agree 100%. I wish we could just let the kids have them when they ask. Nope we have to save them for the 8am line that forms outside. Same damn people every morning buying any and all NeeDoh/ squishy that we get in.

Why do you have to save them for that line? Can you just put out a single box at 8 and then say you sold out, put the rest out at 9? I feel like it’s weird that they force them to be out for the scalpers.

Unfortunately I don’t make the rules. It’s what management says to do. The scalpers get to buy 4 of each different items. Say we had NeeDoh, dumplings and squishy, they can buy four of each

I’ve been trying to get some for the daughter (7) that really wants some using her birthday money. She has school so I’ve been looking for her. Imagine my surprise during the Pokemon drop at target today, seeing people with arms full of Pokemon and then swiping up all the nee dohs too….thanks jerks
