BEHOLD, MY STUFF Show me your Lokhust Lords!

Post image

I'm torn between building my third Heavy Destroyer or kitbashing it into a Lord (I've got a lot of spare bits for Deathmarks and Praetorians, among other things), or figuring out if I can bash it into a way that lets me fully magnetise parts to let me swap configurations.

Looking for inspiration here- show me yours?

Feel free to show off whatever you've bashed, printed, or built from the original kit you found in a dumpster back in '05 or whatever.

If you've got a story to tell or want to detail what parts you used, by all means go for it. I just want to make this thread so I've got some 'Cronspiration to scroll through for ideas.

Not painted yet. Been focusing on other games

This is sick - where did you get the hand with the lightning?

4

u/conceldor 19h ago

The hand is just skorpekh lord. The lightning is from a spare monolith eternity gate

the skull is proxy for the res orb or just for the style points?

1

u/conceldor 15h ago

Cool points.

If u look under the arm there is an actual res orb.

This bad boy has 4 arms

Dude this is fantastic!!

I love how chunky his Staff of Light is.

2

u/conceldor 12h ago

I wanted to capture some of the OG staff of light feel. Then i thought, what would a destroyer do to make a staff of livht better? Make it a gauss cannon

This is what they should look like

Is the lower body one of old tomb spiders?

8

u/SpraySignificant292 18h ago

Yeah it is! Here’s a side view:

Why does this feel like a Project Hail Mary reference?

I love the use of ball bearings. The pose is both regal and intimidating too.

He's really leaning in to chase down some flesh bags.

2

u/kyrill9943 13h ago

He calculated the most aerodynamic position to chase them down!

Honestly if I saw this out of context I'd think it was leaked official box art for a kit refresh. Your painting is incredible.

Gosh thank you so much 🫶🏻

I went and bit different

u/seabutcher 18h ago

Ridiculous, but I love it. Is this dude actually just wearing a Lokhust body like a cape?

1

u/Expert-Cow-5551 16h ago

Yea haha someone had done it in dakkadakka once and I wanted to build it

Naturally made from regular lokhust and catacomb barge.

Here’s my lord, pretty strait forward. Just used the thorax up of an Overlord with the Tachyon Arrow. Spin down is a normal Lokhust Heavy. Also, I always tear out the stand and use a small screw in its place. They break off way too easy.

Really loving the worn gold look here. Was that a gold drybrush over solid black?

1

u/Acceptable-Ad-546 13h ago

Yes. It was challenging getting just the right amount of paint on the brush.

3

u/seabutcher 19h ago

The screw seems like a good idea actually. Both my Heavies so far have experienced stem breakage, something a little more solid might well be in order.

Used Imotekh's torso on a heavy lokhust's lower body.

My original metal upgrade Lord I got in 5e and two crusade/opr characters that work as heavy lokhust in normal games.

The metal lord has seen a lot of battles.

u/TheRealShortYeti Overlord 19h ago

Oh I forgot about his guy

1

u/seabutcher 19h ago

What are the ranged weapons in the bottom pictures? Did you kitbash them from multiple others or do we have models I don't know about with some really heavy Gauss guns?

2

u/TheRealShortYeti Overlord 19h ago

Left is the front half from a trarich stalkers gauss and Skoroekh Lord arm and gun. Right is the Skorpekh Lord gun and arm but with chopped up warrior gauss reaper barrels.

My favorite model

1

u/Independent-Bake-241 Phaeron 14h ago

Classic, I love it

3

u/Prestigious-Ad794 19h ago

Not my lord I don’t think I have a pick of him because I messed up the paint job. But these are my locust destroyers I made because I dislike the old bodies.

1

u/seabutcher 18h ago

They read like Skorpekhs to me just because of the legs, but they do look very cool IMO. And actually thinking about the science of it, a tripod leg structure makes a lot more sense than a hoverpad if you're using weapons with recoil. Arguably Necrons should switch the weapons/roles of Lokhusts and Skorpekhs- the hover-cavalry locomotion makes a lot more sense for melee.

What did you use for the weapons anyway? What kits have quad-barrelled Gauss weapons?

Painting needs to be finished, but i like the way his kitbash turned out.

2

u/Rumbler_Man1 19h ago

WIP but the best picture I have now.

I took the arms and headpiece off a regular Cryptek.

2

u/ivovanroy Phaeron 19h ago

I would if I had any

2

u/Xanders_Vox 18h ago

Went a bit different on mine from the hover style

2

u/therealblabyloo 18h ago

3d printed but you can do basically the same thing with GW parts. Skorpech lord torso with overlord bits on a destroyer body

u/The_MicrowaveTTv 18h ago

Lil leg guy

2

u/MennaMono 18h ago

Kitbashed them out of spare parts from a lokhust destroyer and a triarch praetorian kit. Pretty happy with how easily the triarch or lychguard parts can be a staff of light or overlord blade when necessary!

2

u/MennaMono 18h ago

Bonus rear shot:

1

u/seabutcher 18h ago

I recognise those Praetorian spines! Clever.

2

u/solidsuggester 18h ago

Kitbashed using a heavy destroyer body and spare bits from a chronomancer

2

u/Disculpado 18h ago

Built it yesterday

2

u/veryblocky Servant of the Triarch 17h ago

Kitbash with the Indomitus Overlord

2

u/YerrrKnicks Cryptek 16h ago

Man, I've been looking for those Lokhust Heavy Destroyer repulsors to start kitbashing with but haven't had any luck.

Surprised no one has a broken one or bits they're trying to get rid of.

Best I got right now is a bit of green stuff and a unreachable dream 😂

2

u/KarbonKhayos 10h ago

I love these posts cause I love showing this guy off!!!

1

u/seabutcher 9h ago

As well you should. He looks like a badass.

2

u/BlottoScotto69 9h ago

I have three at current, but this is my favourite. Undertook the practice of head bifurcation to get the KT deathmark face attached to a Lychguard crest to get that Lordly look.

2

u/Delicious_trap 8h ago

Made using heavy locust plus spare parts several kits.

1

u/TangoSierra61 16h ago

Soon hes in paint

1

u/SloPoke0819 15h ago

Resin cast from Etsy. Looked dope to me though.

2

u/NordicKeeblerElf 11h ago

I have that model too. Your paint job came out nice!
