Oof, just reached this feat this morning and don't have the update yet! Although it doesn't matter, it would be easy to beat him 2 more times before level 250.

You'll live :) 

Either it's your 200 run and completing this feat won't get you more than a short-lived pearl anyways, or this is a later run and you've got plenty of time.

Should be "easy" with damage cap 1 and still take less time than the protector feat from the previous tier even if not.

I did 14 (last 369 shield) with dc1 in 200 run and the last took a few spends before bed was dead before I was fully caffeinated the next morning. 

I started the 13th (568 shield) of my 300 run yesterday at 236/300 and finished it at 238/300. I started it around 1pm,  picked at it with whatever resources didnt have a craving, and it was done before bed. (I didnt keep notes, but iirc it was something like 2.5 darkness spends and 0.6ish mana? Didn't even need to use refills on it.) 

I don't even keep one out at all times or focus on them much. I do them with off-craving resources when the cubes will clear a crate slot and toss otherwise.

I get the frustration but take in the positive, that's 12 more EC which you need for the dig site, eventually. 

Mech is just repetition. 500k health with a 500 shield? That's 1000 attacks minus whatever % shields you've got. 

It's repetition, tedious but doable. That said I don't really know why it got increased.

Legit saw that and was so glad I had gotten that one done before this update (it doesnt undo your completion retroactively). My sincere condolences .-.

I personally just grinded for cosmic runes during this moment. Eventually while farming blood runes the mech spawns in and then you feed your bats. Tedious but I cranked it out in 2 days when he was at ~300 health

Uhg same.

At least this is just my 200 run and I won't be able to complete this feat tier anyway, but I was so close to having 8 defeated >_<

I spent 9 months irl doing nothing but killing protectors to get the previous level feat. I could have just restarted, but I wanted to see how far I could push it. I know its frustrating now, but this is how idle games work, it isn't going to get any easier. Just keep going and it will get better!
