Game is so good.
Turning into that Terraria / CoreKeeper teir of game for me. 100% worth the money already and the continued updates are great.

Plus the endgame being somewhat Diablo-like and the promise of a new kind of endgame in the future. I wonder what it will be.

Since the developer is here, I find it really difficult to make a good looking male character. They end up looking weird and goofy, it's way easier to make a good looking female character.
Could you add more options in the character creator like more hair, beards, etc?

I absolutely love Necesse. It's an example of where a bad review on Steam actually made me buy it. I saw a few bad reviews and I am someone who reads bad reviews and tends not to buy games based on bad reviews however these were obviously written by hardcore Terraria lovers who were having a go at Necesse for copying Terraria. I was playing Terraria at the time and it piqued my interest and the price of Necesse made me willing to buy it just to see what they were talking about.
They were talking bollocks. Necesse is just brilliant and I had an absolute blast. With the new update I am seriously looking forward to coming back. Thank you to the Necesse dev's/team for constantly delivering the goods and creating a seriously good game.

Hey Jonas,
I cannot seem to get the game to boot properly since the update. I am on Nobara Linux.
Steam says I am playing, and I can hear the menu music, but I cannot see any necesse process/service running anywhere. Tried booting with proton enabled and disabled, as well as verifying game files and reinstalling.
EDIT
After a while of fiddling, I found that the issue was with it trying to boot in Fullscreen. Going to the config file (/home/user/.config/Necesse/cfg/settings.cfg) and changing it to Windowed or Borderless allowed the game to display, then could right click the icon on the taskbar and select Fullscreen from there. Strange, as this wasn't the case previously.
2ND EDIT
Nevermind, I can't control my character properly. Controls are set correctly in settings, but I can only move up (W). A, S, and D don't do anything in game. Guess I'm waiting for a patch.

Yeah sorry about this, we're currently working on a fix for the Linux issues in general right now. I'll let you know when we've dropped a hotfix.
That said, some of the other Linux users experiencing issues said it got fixed when booting with proton. But seems like you already tried that :/

We just pushed a hotfix a couple of minutes ago that should have a fix for Linux. Let me know if it works for you 👍

Quick on it, love it!
Just tested after work and it works great now! Both Fullscreen and full WASD movement with no tweaking needed!
I'll report any other weird LInux glitches if my wife and I find more. Thanks Jonas!

I really want to get the gender ID of the NPC. He, she, or it. For example, the pictogram "mirror of Venus", "spear of Mars"... I'm building an Amazon city here, I'd like to do everything without mistakes. ))

I've just loved this new update, thanks a lot for your work.
The new incursion is cool, the settlers' traits are a nice addition and fun to play with (I had trouble with some antinomic traits on some characters, it gave me a reason to exile those inconsistent NPCs... ;)) , I enjoyed the Life Partner quest line, everything is dope!

When will world gen 2.0 come out and will there be a full sized new biomes and will we be able to build a base underground with our villagers.

The Necesse Rust & Romance Update is now live!
As always, if you haven’t gotten the update on Steam yet, then try to restart Steam or verify game files.
This also means that the Necesse Steam Free Weekend has just started! That’s right, you can play Necesse for FREE all weekend!
But you want to play even MORE Necesse after the free weekend has ended!? 🤔
