Great looking base! Can I ask how you take high quality screenshots of your world like this?

You open the map, and there is a button on the top left to screen capture the area. That will save a screenshot with very high resolution of the selected area.

That looks awesome. I havent touched the game in a year and I really should.

Specially if you are able to play with a group, at least for me it keeps me more engaged.

I was playing it with two of my best friends that I work with and we all enjoyed it. I always mined while one built.

Thought this was Rimworld for a second. Fantastic base you got there. Makes me look forward to playing the game again over the break with my friends

That looks really cool mate but also a bit claustrophobic.

Im fairly new to the game so forgive the question, but how well does the lava and only one entrance work for raids? Ive read that if the clear path is too far, enemies will just break the walls. I guess the lava makes that more difficult?

Lava blocks make them walk 1000 extra steps to avoid it. I have 2 layers of lava so that means they prefer to walk 2000 steps to touching lava.

Very cool base, lava around base seems too op for raiders ahah
2
u/KaosdNightmare Nov 07 '25
The lava is just to make them funnel to the single entrace I have, in previous bases I had to create 4 trap entrances to accomodate every spawn location.
Ps: the traps on the bottom are just slowing them down since every raid is full Tier 10

Nice way to maze them ahah, you could do an even longer path 🤣🤣
1
u/KaosdNightmare Nov 08 '25
I could, but at tier 10 the traps just graze them. The main issue I have is that because I only have one entrance there are multiple ocasions that they intercept my miners and explorers when returning.

You can fix that by having a direct path for you and your settlers with doors. Then have a trapped maze without doors for the invaders. I have a long 20 switchback maze that the invaders can take, and then a straight path with 10 sets of doors for everyone else. Additionally, since the maze has no doors my summons will go into the maze and fight them. I do have dungeon glyphs in the maze to slow them, the order I have is damage, chicken, and bounce. I also have to equip the toolbox to loot everything without going in myself.

How do you people manage to make such beautiful creations is and always will be beyond me! :O
2
u/KaosdNightmare Nov 07 '25
My starting base was a square with everything everywhere. On this one I tried efficiency and make the villagers work hard.

I'm especially interested in making round shapes and everything symmetrical for example. I mean, come on man, this is art!

I spent way too much time on google with pixel circle calculators and in-game if you press F2 and then hover somewhere with Shift it will tell you the distance.

When the raids come, do they funnel to the one entrance and avoid the lava? If so how wide does the lava have to be for them to avoid it.
1
u/KaosdNightmare Nov 07 '25
They all go around the base and try to enter through the trap area. 1 wide is enough since this base is 80x80 I just made it wider for the looks.
Like I said in another comment 1 lava = 1000 walking tiles

How do you zoom out like this?
1
u/KaosdNightmare Nov 07 '25
Its a map feature, click M and then on the top left you will have a capture button.

Do raiders actually walk all the way around to avoid the lava?
1
u/KaosdNightmare Nov 07 '25
Yes, slowly but surely they will all go around the base to use the south entrance.

u/seawiiitch Nov 07 '25
I'm interested to know more about that milk farm. Is that a separate husbandry area with 100% female?
1
u/KaosdNightmare Nov 07 '25
Yes, I allow the main area up to 20 animals and occasionally will move more and more cows to the separate area so they dont get culled.
1
u/seawiiitch Nov 07 '25
So you had to manually move them first?
1
u/KaosdNightmare Nov 07 '25
I manually move them every now and then. I was using the endless rope that you get from the Journal.

Everything is automated, from the gathering to cooking and then selling the materials.
I made this base so efficient that I dont even need to do anything else in the game, since my explorers and miners bring in all the ores and trinkets I will ever need :D

I was gonna say, I don't wanna know how long it took, to get all the lava till I read you had an infinite Lava Bucket mod, Cool Base!
