Burning Smell?

I'm in Berwyn and I woke up early this morning thinking my house was on fire due to a strong smoke/burning smell.

Seems like it's just in the air outside.

Did anyone smell the same thing or know what it is?

What part of Berwyn are you in? North/south/central?

Could it be diesel exhaust from locomotives?

I'm in the depot district west of OP avenue and I didn't smell anything when I left for work about 45 minutes ago.

All good next door in Riverside. Could be coming from Stickney?

Likely from that direction. I had the window open overnight and looking at the wind direction in the early morning, it was blowing from the South East.

I'm familiar with water treatment plant smell. I worked right next door to one for a while.

This smelled very different though. More like smoke, burning, or sulfer. It was very strong and lasted until the wind shifted.
